I haven't once said you have more or less knowledge than me on French football
Just that a) the signing doesnt really make sense
b) the french league isn't that good (it isn't, there's a reason it flirts with netherlands and portugal rather than bundesliga and laliga)
c) we are rivalling Preston to his signature
Fair enough, there's no indication it's a loan to buy at this stage to me which is why I think it seems a strange deal.I'll give you my opinion
1) he is already a good player, yes will need a little work, but he's still young
2) he is already an upgrade on Max Lowe
3) the 5th/6th best league in the world is still a pretty good standard, plenty of top prem players have come from these sorts of leagues
4) if the fee is anything less than 4-5m it's a no brainer for me
5) just my opinion, from my ability to judge a player
Soo… not much knowledge then?Well I've lived in France 8 years, had a season ticket at stade brestois 29 for 2 years, have the french equivalent of sky and Amazon prime, so have every game live, I probably know a bit
...because he's indicated he's not interested? Want's more in wages and signing on than we're willing to pay? There's loads of possible reasons.Fair enough, there's no indication it's a loan to buy at this stage to me which is why I think it seems a strange deal.
The weirdest thing of all, that I can't wrap my head around, is Ryan Manning being free and us not picking him up in a position of weakness.
I'm not normally one to defend El Accounto but this isn't exactly true. What he said was in response to a question on what Ndiaye's valuation was: he said Marseille would see it at £6-8m whereas Premier League would value him at £20-25m. I don't think he ever said that United valued him at £6-8m.Darren Smith: we will accept 6-8m from Marseille for Ndiaye
T-Blade: We're holding out for 20 mill
Darren Smith: Actually we want 20 mill from Marseille
If this is true then I hope it puts an end to whole thing for this season. No matter how much he may want to leave(which I don't believe he does) I don't believe for a second we would let him go for 7 or 8 million. Pay up or fuck off and I don't believe Marseille will.I'm not normally one to defend El Accounto but this isn't exactly true. Explosive finisher in his day.
Apparently we spoke to Manning and he wanted to come but Hecky decided to go for this guy instead. We are very much going down the 'rough diamonds' route. This could be a longer season than I imagined at first. Or, it might not, have to wait and see. No doubt me saying that will have people saying I'm 'pork'.
What's up with Ryan Manning is my first question? If we go down then we've got one of the very best LWB in the league. He's literally free. It's bizarre.
Darren Smith said it’s a loan to buy. I think this deal financially would be similar in cost to the Manning dealFair enough, there's no indication it's a loan to buy at this stage to me which is why I think it seems a strange deal.

Appreciate your dedication to this post so I will drop all chargesDarren Smith: Traore isn't one of the 4

It was you who said you can’t wrap your head around it? There several possible reasons why, as you say maybe we’re just not bothered.Or we just aren't bothered about signing him? What's your point?
I dunno, you seem to want to talk? You keep asking questions, which normally denotes that you want a response? So why waste time talking about it any longer?
Like rain on your wedding day?Ironic
That is not irony, just bad luckLike rain on your wedding day?

The irony was missedView attachment 164717
There was nothing ironic about my original comment either. I was quite happy to have my questions answered.
