Jarrad Branthwaite? 20 years old and a left footed CB from Everton. 1.96m tall, played 27 games and scored 2 goals on loan last season at PSV.Who then?
Fed up of people knocking the suggestion but not having a meaningful alternative as a suggestion
Some are suggesting lad from Barnsley, Anderson or kitching, look good but are they prospects over a proven prem and international?
I think your missing the point. Almost everyone is in agreement he IS a good signing and should be playing premier league football.but saying an England International with more prem experience than anyone in our squad isn't good enough for us is frankly Wednesdayesque twattery
Or one of em is absent through illness or injury or suspension.I think your missing the point. Almost everyone is in agreement he IS a good signing and should be playing premier league football.
The questions are;
a) Is CB/RCB a priority position for us.
b) Would he realistically replace Egan or Anel (at least without ruffling any feathers)
c) Alternatively would he be happy to come but with no guarantee of being a starter
d) If we are going to play Coady, Egan, Anel is it going to be optimal to shoehorn one of them into a position on their wrong side.
I guess the most important is C), if he is happy to come here but knowing he isnt guarenteed to be a starter then fair do's to him, we have snagged an excellent replacement for Anel/Egan in the case we do get relegated and/or sell one of them.

I think it simply comes down to us needing 4-5 starters as a priority ahead of another (albeit high quality and experienced) CB/RCB. If we can bring in these starters for the reported 20m, plus add Coady, then it is a no-brainer. If we can’t then I struggle to see how we can justify spending 1/4 of the budget on him.
It also got us Mcburnie and Ndiaye. Joint top goalscorers in a promotion season. We used that strategy last time, with Ramsdale and Brewster, and we sank without trace in one of the most lacklustre and dismal seasons I can ever remember.
Please let's not try this again.
I always thought he came from Wolves to us.We loaned him from Liverpool before he then signed for Huddersfield. Great knowledge there pal![]()
coady would go straight in at centre back egan to lcb harry maguire adapted to this role a few years ago dont see any reason egan couldnt play there that would be a very good back 3 if coady comes here no way hes not going to be a staryer
Using that logic he's also going to be playing for Italy - honestly the straws some press clutch at makes me laugh![]()

Anel wasted and not as effective on the leftWhy would Egan swap positions. Surly if CC came back Anel would switch sides been as he’s played lcb quite a lot before
Anel - Egan - Coady
Anel wasted and not as effective on the left
People thinking we have the players versatile enough to just swap positions in the best league in the world always cracks me up. If they could, they'd already be thereI thought Anel looked crap on the left, so much so we switched Bash to play there instead.
I wouldnt get your knickers in a twist too soon about coady, he's linked with Rangers now, and they pay more than us..
