Osula and Jebbison

And clubs are going to bid how much considering they could get him free in a season? £15-20 million? Is that worth it considering the extra £££ we’d get from staying up?

I’m not saying you’re wrong but there is a clear option here which involves keeping him for another year and increasing our chances of staying up.
It's an interesting situation.
Would Illy be as effective week in week out against a far higher level of defending and go a long way to helping us stay up or would he struggle in our team at that level and therefore it making more sense to take 20m now?
I have no idea but it's a decision Heck/board need to make.

Last 2 games he has shown he is maturing well. Can't think of a better future than having Illi at no.10 and Jebbo and Osula in front of him. They need game time together. They have experience in the under 23s together. Love Billy, but time to hand over to the new crew! They are keen, eager, maybe raw, but exciting. We really should be thinking of 4,3,1,2 in prep for EPL imo.is Hecky brave enough?
Totally agree.

That's fucking madness! 2 promising players thrown in the deepend could demoralise them forever, they need game time probably championship loans. And as for illiman who knows what will happen, going for peanuts your having a laugh..
It would be madness to start Osula in the top flight given he couldn't hold down a starting place in league 1. Off the strength of one performance.

I could see the benefit of bringing Jebbo off the bench, but he really needs to be playing regular first team football if he's going to achieve his potential.

If a club wants a player they'll buy him, they won't wait for his contract to run down hoping they'll get a bargain freebie.

Not all clubs think like United, Spurs won't haggle over a few quid when there is a possibility that Illiman might have a good Premier League season and risk being outdone in the wages department by Man Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea or City
A year in the Premier League, on a free transfer, it’ll be a different kind of market for Iliman and he and his agent will know that even if you don’t.

If a club wants to completely disregard his expiring contract and bid £40 odd million for him - which I think is what you’ve changed your argument to after first saying we should sell if he’s not signing a new deal - then of course we’d be mad to turn it down. But it’s no sure thing that’ll happen.

I think that's what I said....same thing

Only Iliman benefits from running his contract down.

Spurs if they are serious would be wise to buy him now even though he still has a year left on his contract.

Because if he has played well in the Premier League for us there's no way Spurs will get him on a free, they'll be blown out of the water by dafter clubs

Just a thought but, can anyone tell me of anybody thrown in at the deep end that has been demoralised forever? I seem to remember McAtee getting thrown in at the deep end, he doesn't look demoralised to me.

Given he is currently our best player, if it means we get him for another year this is just not true.

George Long

I worry people are going to be frustrated with them because they've missed chances

Anyone getting frustrated with the composure of teenaged strikers needs to get a grip. Composure will come with experience.

Billy needs to fuck off with his ranting at Osula. Billy would not have passed if he had been in that position.

I thought Sharp was extremely harsh on him yesterday.
You want your captain putting his arm round a young lad for having a go, not berating him.

Think that's the first time in my life I've been pissed off at Billy

These two lads are going to be fucking awesome
Best two youths I’ve seen up top since Dean (add DCL in there)
These 2 up top with illy will give us a good start next season plus Doyle with Berge it's a start the rest of the recruitment needs to be better than in previous seasons
Nothing to look at here 🧐
Think Jebbo is starting to be influenced by Ndiaye’s game

I think these two are our best pair of young strikers since Stainrod & Edwards a lifetime ago. The latter two went on to have long and successful careers but they were thrown in too early and United paid for that. Jebbo & Osula are good young players but they are raw and untested which means they will be inconsistent. Excellent prospects both of them but it would be a massive surprise if they could step up to this level and prosper at this stage in their careers.

I'd go with them both in the Prem, it doesn't really matter if we get relegated anyway because going up is all about getting out of the financial shyte and improving the infrastructure.
McAtee is in the process of signing a new deal at Citeh which will rule out another loan because he'll be earning too much, a bit like Henderson.

Illiman is on Spurs radar and with only one year left on his contract he's going to force a move for peanuts.

So, give them both a place in the team with intensive training on finishing, and how to be a complete pain in the arse for defenders for 90 minutes.

If we are lucky they will be quality players when we come back down

Lot to go at in this post

Not least - the fact we signed hendo after he’d signed his massive new deal.

We couldn’t get him on a permanent basis or on loan again because he wanted a crack at being man u’s keeper

Henderson got a new deal when we got promoted from the Championship, rumoured to be £75000 a week so we could pay a fair bit of it and he came back.

He then got another deal worth £150,000 a week after establishing himself in the Prem and Man Utd wanted us to pay all of his wages, so that was that as far as we were concerned.

So many people on here in the past have said Billy should be the 'striker coach' at the club.

He may have been a proven goalscorer but it doesn't it make him 'coach' material.

Yesterday's behaviour towards a youngster may well have shown he doesn't possess the necessary qualities.

Seems to be doing pretty good at Millwall at the moment
I take it you didn't watch the Millwall v Blackburn game yesterday, he cost Millwall a play off place with his erratic keeping.
Ironic cheers from the Millwall fans when he caught one.

I've seen a transcript where Hecky agrees with Billy. Osula needs get his head up and pick the best option to score i.e. square it to Billy open goal. Says we will get very few chances in prem and must make them count. Far too many chances were wasted against Birmingham.

Bristol rovers want Osula on loan “if” we are prepared to let him out.

wonder what he could learn off joey Barton?

Jordan Slew ?

Despite how good we think these two are going to be wouldn't they really benefit from a season long loan in the divisions below?

They're still very raw with hardly playing much last season so what makes them going to be used alot in the PL?

Trust hecky anyways.

In an ideal world, maybe? But working on the assumption that we won't be bringing in a top class striker in the summer, I don't see how we have that luxury. McBurnie + one of Brewster, Jebbo or Osula (depending who impresses most in preseason) will be the partnership we start the season with I think, with Ndiaye in behind them assuming he's still here.
