Osula and Jebbison

All for getting them experience. But, if you don’t have the bodies here it’s going to cost 10m or so for a replacement.

Really a question of allocating your resources effectively. Certainly they looks as promising a prospects as DCL did and he looked much better in the PL then I thought he would based of his time for us.

I do think both Jebbison and Osula would look better in the Prem, we're not going to dominate many/any games next season, so their pace would be really helpful

Billy needs to fuck off with his ranting at Osula. Billy would not have passed if he had been in that position.

A bit of desperation from Billy admittedly, but he was right to be frustrated.

He may have had a shot himself had he been in Osula's position, but the difference is that Bill would have at least picked his head up to have a look and see who's there before pulling the trigger. If you watch it back, Osula doesn't, despite Billy being in an excellent position.

That sort of thing will come with experience, of course. Billy perhaps a bit OTT with his rants, but we know he wanted that 250th. Nowt personal to it.

The kid won't hav taken the rant from Billy personally. Tbh, now the dust has settled Billy has actually given him another lesson in that he needs to be more aware of teammates around him who might be in a better position.

It naturally comes with age, and I can think of no better teacher than BS to teach these lads the art of putting the ball into the net and forward play. Osula will be a better player for it.

Maybe Billy will tell them that strikers need to have a streak of selfishness and back themselves in potential goalscoring situations, and that Billy himself has had a long & successful career of doing exactly that. I understand his frustration, but there was hypocrisy involved in his reaction.

Both Jebbo & Osula will have promising futures , both are strong & fast but need to work on there composure in front of goal , both are rough diamonds at the moment .
They’ve had 5 chances between them over the last 2 games & at the top level they have to go in .
We absolutely need a PL standard forward next season ( depending on budget ) & likelihood of that happening will learn a lot from the said person .
Re the Sharp incident Osula should have squared it so I get Billy’s frustration, but all good strikers do have a degree of selfishness & Billys had plenty of opportunities to grab that 250th goal notably against Wigan .

We've seen both show their exceptional physical attributes the last few weeks. They're all action, pace and power, but lack composure as they finish. I hope we can continue to trust them and give them playing time and the composure should come.

I worry people are going to be frustrated with them because they've missed chances, but for me their performances, and the fact that they seem to be getting so many chances, have been very encouraging.
Reminds me of the early Didsy days when he was missing a lot. He was clearly excellent technically, but couldn’t finish. It’s similar with these two… the goals will come.

Billy would have missed anyway, he has missed so many chances in the last 3 years, so he can’t complain too much

We can't afford a Premier league standard forward.

These two are exactly what you need in the prem and exactly what we've been missing up top for years.

Fast powerful confident physical freaks who scrap for everything. Soon as that finishing comes (and they do it no bother at u21 level)..
They'll be worth a packet

I don't think Osula saw Billy which is the problem, more than him being selfish. I think he just saw the goal and that was all that was on his mind whearas a player further down their development (Ndiaye) might have taken that spilt second to look up, or be already aware of where team mates are.

I didn’t mention those two.
"Big powerful strikers is what we need" - it the Osula and Jebbision thread - It seemed to be a clear inference from the flow of the thread, especially given the thread title and that nobody on planet earth wants small weak strikers.

:)

Whilst I agree they;re still raw - can you tell me who actually fulfils your criteria that is realistic?

I'd go with them both in the Prem, it doesn't really matter if we get relegated anyway because going up is all about getting out of the financial shyte and improving the infrastructure.
McAtee is in the process of signing a new deal at Citeh which will rule out another loan because he'll be earning too much, a bit like Henderson.

Illiman is on Spurs radar and with only one year left on his contract he's going to force a move for peanuts.

So, give them both a place in the team with intensive training on finishing, and how to be a complete pain in the arse for defenders for 90 minutes.

If we are lucky they will be quality players when we come back down

Difficult, isn't it - but given we're a premier league club, we definitely shouldn't be relying on 2 extremely raw youngsters with a mere handful of goals and appearances between them. If we were to loan them out, it would probably be to League one again - which says it all about the level they're at.

Wow - just......wow. :D

Yes
But he should be sold if he doesn't sign a new deal, and the noises coming from the club are suggesting he won't
And clubs are going to bid how much considering they could get him free in a season? £15-20 million? Is that worth it considering the extra £££ we’d get from staying up?

I’m not saying you’re wrong but there is a clear option here which involves keeping him for another year and increasing our chances of staying up.

If a club wants a player they'll buy him, they won't wait for his contract to run down hoping they'll get a bargain freebie.

Not all clubs think like United, Spurs won't haggle over a few quid when there is a possibility that Illiman might have a good Premier League season and risk being outdone in the wages department by Man Utd, Arsenal, Newcastle, Chelsea or City

That's the spirit...

That's fucking madness! 2 promising players thrown in the deepend could demoralise them forever, they need game time probably championship loans. And as for illiman who knows what will happen, going for peanuts your having a laugh..

Remember when Everton bought DCL and played him, despite him offering very little for us, and then very little for them. They waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and waited and then he started to come good. Then they waited some more, and he improved even further.

Yeah, that, but with these two. We won't win many, we won't score many goals, we won't be able to afford much and we won't stay up, but we can nurture these two in the meantime.
