The money wont be reinvested if we sell Jebbo so whats the point in selling him. He will be a Prem player either way next season

It's always a shame when young players leave and you are left thinking "but what if".
However I have seen nothing from Jebbo recently which suggests that he is going to add the sprinkle of magic dust required to help get us promoted. That will fall on the likes of Berge, Ndaye, Bogle, and maybe Brewster if he kicks on.
These are the players we need to keep hold of now, who can deliver now at this level. So if selling Jebbo for a decent fee can keep the wolves from the door on one of the above, then I am afraid it's a no brainer for me. Just get a decent fee and a meaty sell on clause please.

Sensible post.

Its young English strikers where the money is, so if Everton (or whoever) did come in with a number, it would have to be a big number for me, plus £10m

This season is about as shit or bust as can be

Selling Jebbison to maximise our chances this season isn't something that could reasonably be looked back on with regret

If we can sign a couple of proven players with the money it's a no brainer (1 loan 1 perm probably)

That's exactly how I see it.

It's pointless loaning him back to a L1 team as he probably wouldn't get much development back there. And lower end Championship teams would probably not want to risk a loan incase he doesnt make the step up.
So he's probably better off staying here and learning how to force his way into the team.

That or we get a decent offer and he gets sold.

Not in the squad today and not mentioned with the injuries. Unused sub on Thursday despite us needing a goal.

Is he off? I doubt McBurnie is anywhere near fully ready to play, so seems an odd decision.

Strongly disagree with this. He didn’t prove himself in L1 so even if he goes down a level and rips it up it will help his game and give him a load of confidence. If he doesn’t rip it up it’ll be a learning curve for him and show him the levels he’s currently at.

Last season in League 1, as an 18 yr old, Jebbo scored 7 goals in 20 appearances (1,238 minutes & slightly better than a 1 in 2 game average), won L1 player for November, and was nominated again in January. As a point of reference Harry Kane, when 18, scored 5 in 18 on loan at Leyton Orient in League 1.

He’s ahead of Mcburnie for me
I know McBurnie has been poor for long spells between his injuries and indiscretions but when he came to us I thought he did well - a few goals and worked hard for the team.

Jebbison, his goal apart in the PL hasn’t even looked remotely like a player in a blades shirt. I’d like him to do well and he’s scored goals for burton which is encouraging. But I haven’t seen him holding the ball when we need him to. Osula looked better last season.

Jebbison needs time or a move

Personally thought Brewster did well today in the second half

I’d have him 3rd behind Brewster and Sharp for me currently because he can put himself about and at least cause concern for a defence he has the ability to run in behind but also battle. Right now Mcburnie has to show me he still has the ability to do that it’s a long time since he’s done it.

Brewster has had a very good start to the season and I feel like if he keeps going the goals will come for him

I also don’t see the value in persisting with Mcburnie his deal is up at the end of the season and how likely is he to sign a new one on the wages we’d want to offer to reflect his contribution.

If they are thinking of moving Jebbinson they will need to see how Sharp is after coming off at HT. PH says he's done his ankle and will have to wait to see how it settles down.
They will be 2 strikers down if Jebbison goes.

Offer him wages!!!?, he should be fucking paying the club to stay!

To add to the speculation, Everton may have a fair bit to spend soon with Chelsea seemingly taking a strong interest in Gordon.

I guess that's why clubs invest millions into analytics and scouting because I'm afraid I don't see a Prem level player in Jebbison anytime soon.

Perhaps he's one of those players massively overhyped/overrated by a fanbase due to them having one decent game against them e.g. Oztumer, Byrne, Lolley etc. Let's hope Khadra doesn't turn into another damp squib

I'm one for keeping Jebbo, IF he gets games!, but, I can see the club accepting a £7m offer if one came in.

United have a year option. If he does well we are almost certain to trigger it imo. Big if though. I don't think any of our players are on phenomenal wages at this level. We had a modest wage bill in the prem and then a 50% cut last year before a further cut this year.

Maybe but even on his current wedge would you renew based on his contribution from the last two years? I wouldn’t and I’d be tempted to develop a long term asset in his place
