Great player, sign him up. Anyone who thinks otherwise needs to give their head a wobble

Yea we’ve put him in the coaching staffs gear as a disguiseNo threads complete without a grainy picture of the player in question... Is it? Int it?![]()
Of course we need cover. We suffered with injuries but I maintain if we are making one significant cash signing we'd be better using it on areas of higher need - namely central midfield and forward line.
We still will get overrun in midfield unless we address that lack of legs and still will struggle to score the percentage goals without someone to hold the ball up or keep it higher up the field.
Just my opinion. I feel with doubts over Brewsters fitness and McBurnie a dud, relying on Sharp will be fraught with danger. Osula and Jebbo are not ready. Yet. I'd say with 4 going out at the top of the field we need at least 2 strikers.
Surprised there seems to be little in the way of links with out and out strikers thus?
Pretty much every Derby fans assessment of him.He is a very good player when he is playing well. His “Utube” highlights are very good, unfortunately he is not consistent enough and only seems to turn it on for 20% of the time. I would steer clear but I have faith in our manager and if he wants him he must consider that he can offer enough to justify the signing on fee and wage.
Although right-footed, he's meant to be a very comfortable LCB.Find it odd if we have such limited cash we are
Not sure I'd trust Lawrence to do a Ruud Gullit, mateAlthough right-footed, he's meant to be a very comfortable LCB.
He is signing to replace Robinson, not Basham
All of these comments saying he's not consistent. Well 11 goals and I think it was 5 assists in an average derby side sounds not too bad for me! I suspect when derby fans say he's inconsistent is that he has quite games in there but partly because when he is on form he's very good and of he could do that every week he'd be in the premier League and we'd have no chance of signing him at present. You have to take the quieter games to get the better games and hope the ratio of quieter games to decent ones is more in favour to the decent ones, that's Hecky's job and I'm confident if he signs we could see even better than 11 goals and 5 assists.
Glyn Hodges was in consistent, but in his prime you'd play him every week because there were more good games than average and he'd do something that no one else could do. Lawrence could be similar.
Lawrence is a match winner. Can never have too many of those. All of these comments saying he's not consistent. It chopped off half of the quote. Deadbat was talking about Anel:Not sure I'd trust Lawrence to do a Ruud Gullit, mate
Find it odd if we have such limited cash we are spending it in a right sided centre back allegedly? Surely Bash will still start?
Yep, shouldn't really pass up opportunities to add proven goal scorers to the squad, especially when your 2 centre mids aren't allowed to scoreLawrence is a match winner. Can never have too many of those.

Sheffield United will invite striker to hold talks about a move to Bramall Lane
Tom Lawrence will be invited to speak with Sheffield United about the possibility of joining Paul Heckingbottom’s side, after the forward indicated he will leave Derby County before the start of the new campaign.www.thestar.co.uk
Correct me if I'm wrong but does this mean someone other than PH will try and persuade Tom Lawrence to join us, given that PH is in Portugal.
Ironically I was never a massive Hodges fan! I was a fan of United from 1989 onwards but wasn't able to go regularly until the back end of the 1992/3 season. Hodges, in my view, was slightly past his best by then, he wasn't actually always a starter as Whitehouse - who I preferred for the left wing had took his place and Hodges ended up playing up front more from memory as a second striker, I might be wrong on that?Loved Glyn Hodges. Some player on his day. He and Deano were our flair players to add to the rest of the workers in the team (some of them could also play a bit too, like Jock Bryson).
Not so sure Anel will play LCB to be honest, he's right footed and Hecky has previously said he likes to play people on their natural side, if we are to do that I think Egan could well be the one that moves as he has played LCB for Ireland .

For me in terms of the exceptional skilled players inconsistent or not I appreciated more the likes David Cotterill,
I wouldn’t trust Flashscore100% disagree. Sorry.
It's been mentioned multiple times that Anel featured as LCB at Bordeaux. This is why we want him, to replace Robinson, not Basham. Click the images below to enlarge...View attachment 138544View attachment 138545View attachment 138546View attachment 138548
He is comfortable across LCB, CB & RCB and has been known to play RB too.

I'll stand fully corrected if you're right, I hope you are as we need competition for the LCB role but it will be a first for Hecky to play a left footed player on the right side or vice versa for any length of time and when injuries were not the case; just in case you were to mention Baldock at LWB or Davies at RCB.100% disagree. Sorry.

Gets my goat a bit this, Wilder went out of his way to buy completely one footed players, never seen such a collection whose off foot is just for standing on assembled before.I'll stand fully corrected if you're right, I hope you are as we need competition for the LCB role but it will be a first for Hecky to play a left footed player on the right side or vice versa for any length of time and when injuries were not the case; just in case you were to mention Baldock at LWB or Davies at RCB.
I'm not disagreeing with you or Matt, just stating that he is right footed and is predominately played at RCB. That's what my look on the net revealed like the attached article, if he played for Bordeaux on the left I've not seen on anything on that, not saying he hasn't played there either.Gets my goat a bit this, Wilder went out of his way to buy completely one footed players, never seen such a collection whose off foot is just for standing on assembled before.
I get you have a preferred foot but I'm of the opinion that if you are a professional footballer above conference level you should at least be able to swing at it with the other foot.
Our lot waste so many chances and give the ball away so much trying to get it into their good foot.
