Been convinced for a while this is Forest's year and thought they would pip Bornmuff.

Hoped they would because of it.

That said, we have to take the positives and from what could have been a hammering and a procession second leg, the late goal put a different slant on it.

If there is a twist it will be an unbelievable buzz come tomorrow night.

Sadly though I just don't see it.
I pretty much agree with all you've said here.

Though I know it's possible that our best players CAN win us the tie tonight.

Whatever happens tonight, Hecky deserves a lot of credit for getting this struggling group up the table.

Win or lose, UTB.

I think those wanting us to come out of the blocks fast are going to be disappointed. I expect us to sit deep and be compact to prevent Forest getting in behind our full backs like they did numerous times on Saturday. We only need a goal to get us to extra time and I think PH will be happy if we were to get to 80mins without conceding. If it stays 0-0 I don't expect us to twist early and go all out attack until late in the game.
MGW and N'Diaye are going to be so important tonight - we can't be ponderous and pedestrian in possession again, we'll need quick transitions from defence to attack when we win the ball. The midfield will need to keep the ball moving forwards. With MGW in the team I give us a puncher's chance, but it's going to be a nervy night where we'll have to be patient in our wait for chances.
Real Madrid were completely out-played by Man City the other night and managed to nick a couple of goals from nothing, so it can happen. Buckle up and keep the faith

Id make 3 changes for tonight
Baldock for Osborn - more balance on the right goinf forward.
RND for Stevens - RND manged to deal with the left side last time we played Forest.
Houriane for Fleck - Norwood seems abit more effective when hes playing along side Houriane.
IF
Billys 30% fit id have him on the bench, could be handy if we go to penalties.

We really need Sander, MGS and Ndiaye to take the game to them when opportunity arises. Keep it tight and get them nervous then we really have to make better use of the ball when we get those chances to. That trio should be capable of causing any defence some issues.

Strangely relaxed, but my blood will boil if we turn up like we did in the home leg.

Actually think us needing to go there and score will help our performance levels, Forest can't afford to rest on a 1 goal lead

We were, unless I'm dreaming this, the better team in the second half of 1st leg(?). Not rewatched.

After half time team talk the defence were better, for a good chunk of the half at least (Egan error aside)

That could give us hope for tonight.

what hecky has done has been fantastic. & considering since February he battling upstream with an injury crisis. & playing without a senior striker for 6 weeks. its remarkable. considering Blackpool, Bournemouth, Reading & Bristol city. 5th was probably an under achievement.

Hope
We should not be as crap as sat.
They only scored on our mistakes
Only 1 down.
They seem over confident and the football god's may have seen that.

Reality
Only Liverpool have beaten them at home this year.

This is United and we're Blades. A night at the office this won't be.

I'd be so very surprised if United take this lying down, I'm predicting if we lose it will be tight and frustrating. If we win, I'd wager we won't make it easy and within 90 minutes.

Forest: Samba, Spence, Worrall, Colback, Zinckernagel, Surridge, Johnson, Yates, McKenna, Cook, Garner.
Subs: Horvath, Figueiredo, Davis, Laryea, Mighten, Cafu, Lolley.

Blades: Foderingham, Baldock, Fleck, Basham, Berge, Egan, Norwood, Robinson, Gibbs-White, Ndiaye, Norrington-Davies.
Subs: A. Davies, B. Davies, Osborn, Hourihane, Uremovic, Osula, Jebbison

Let’s be honest I think we all know we’ve lost this one just hope we don’t get shown up.
