I just hope and pray that Septic Tank takes us over. If not we are nailed on mid table mungous.

Gutted…… drag it out to the end just to torture us even more….. all part of being Blade….

let’s smash next season after that, they’ve showed we‘re more than good enough to smash this league

looking forward to next season!
Thought you funked off at half time

Could anyone sit and watch that at the end?

I had to go for a walk. It was either that or a heart attack !

Ended up watching on bbc website with 125,000 others.

I had to go for a walk.
Thought for a minute there you said ‘had to go for a wank’

Which In fairness I’m going to adopt the next time we’re in the playoffs

180 minute thrap sound quite enjoyable compared to watching that💦

How did we miss 3 out of 4 penalties, never seen that before? NorWank going first? Surely they practice pens in training? Awful!

I think he means that's him done for this season
I know what he meant, but to say that at half time was poor.
thankfully our players had more spirit in them, than that
I was proud of em tonight and get sick of those blades that jump straight on em when they go a goal down.
I’m emotional tonight, after the loss, but feel so proud of em for their performance tonight.

Some sandy vaginas on here tonight saying Hecky had no plan B.

Hecky showed just how good he is tonight. With the exception of Sharp, he's had misfiring strikers all season, and moulded 2 midfielders into a potent attacking force. He went into the play offs with NO strikers. Got mugged off on Saturday, but the tactics were spot on tonight. Forest were shitting themselves 2nd half. We defended well, went long, and had them on their arse for most of the 90 minutes.

We will lose a few in the summer (MGW, Egan and Berge probably), and possibly time to move on a few (Stevens, Fleck).

Hecky has taken a team looking over its shoulder with no confidence, to one where despite tonight's result, we are all looking forward to next season. He's built confidence, gained points, moulded team spirit and we have put in some excellent performances (Swansea, Fulham home and away, QPR away and tonight). He's also made some good decisions in January, and already realised Mousett won't amount to anything, nor will Freeman, and we will be keeping Didzy for sentimental reasons. He's even turned Robinson into a player, he looks determined, and exceptionally strong in the air now.

Plus he knows the youth players, and I expect to see a few more of them next season.

Very proud tonight, we gave it a right good go.

Really looking forward to next season already.

I didn't realise he'd said it at half time sorry

Thought Didzy freeman were gone moussette kept another 12month extension? I'd be very surprised if anybody came in for Egan think he's been well below par and turns into an absolute shambles as soon as a ball Is played over the top.

The fat lady has sung.

A rather scrappy game overall with only flashes of skill.

First half, we started ok but the defence was pulled this ways and that as they broke. Little upfront and we lost most battles. Much better second half. We pushed further up and pressed them and they produced next to nothing. We cut off the problem at source and were much better. Won battles and made them panic. They were on the ropes at one stage but we just didn't have enough to get that 3rd goal.

Foderingham - 6 - Didn't really have much to do. I'm not convinced by his penalty saving skills but they were good pens in fairness. Had a great season considering and proved most of us, especially me, wrong.
RND - 7 -He's been mixed this season but put in a really good performance against Spence. Hardly hardly gave him an inch. Didn't get forward much himself but not surprising.
Robinson - 6 - At fault for the first goal as asleep and let his man just run through. Daft booking again and lucky not to see red for the dive but I thought he settled down second half and was much better. Really determined to get to the ball at corners. Surprised many this season and earned the new deal.
Egan - 6 - Not sure what he was doing for their first but generally more solid.
Basham - 6 - Again, slightly iffy first half and should have done better on the goal. Grew into the game as it went on and better second half.
Baldock - 7 - He's not a world beater but he offers so much on the pitch when he's pushed higher up. Did brilliantly for the second goal.
Fleck - 6 - Did ok and kept going. Good run for the goal and kept at it.
Norwood - 8 - His distribution was hit and miss but really got stuck in the cut and thrust. Put several strong challenges in and bossed the midfield.
Berge - 6 - Odd one. I thought he was largely absent first half but then set up the goal and has a strange ability to not be particularly quick but always seems to get round his man at the byline. Impressive penalty in the circumstances as well.
MGW - 7 - Player of the season by a long country mile and while he didn't have his best day a constant menace. Got another goal and will be sorely missed. He's incredibly good at finding space Never seen anything like it.
Nidaye - 7 - I don't think he did anything wrong on the saves. Got to credit the keeper there. His workrate was great and he made some brilliant runs off the defenders.

Subs

Osborn - 5 - Didn't really see much from him. It's make do and mend at right back but his first touch is inside, which is understandable I guess. Earned the new contract with his sheer workrate and energy. Good player to have in the squad.
Hourihane - 5 - Mixed since he joined us. He's clearly got a lot of attributes but also past his peak. Too slow really but we've benefited greatly from his set-pieces this season

Hecky - 8 - I don't think he could have asked for anything more. We started ok but never really dominated in an equal first half. We came out second half and pushed up the pitch and competed much better. While much of it was scrappy we were unlucky not to get a third. He's impressed in his first season. Will be interesting to see how summer/pre-season goes in terms of signings.

Forest - Thought we were the better side overall and they were hanging on at times. They have some really useful players and are probably the team who most deserve to go up. Cooper's done a great job there and their style is really suited to the EPL. They'll struggle against Huddersfield though. Not a foregone conclusion. Johnson will be some player. Seems to have so much time on the ball. Davis always impresses when I see him. So much strength but also really quick feet. Interesting to see if he gets a look-in at Villa next season.

I thought all 3 had gone? If Mousett is staying, at least McDonald's will be pleased after closing all their Russian outlets.
Was told freeman didzy and Adam Davies gone & mousette Robinson Osborne 12 month extensions. Could be wrong tho pal, we need a few gone and some new blood in team what ever happens UTB

Thought Davies only signed on a 6 month contract. The poor bugger hasn't had a kick

I've not heard anything about Mousset getting an extension. We'd be mad to do so.

Robinson, Osborn and Sharp have a year, Bash has two. Didzy has gone. Nor idea about Davies. I'd keep him if he wants to stay.

Suppose we best just wait an see. Honestly looking forward to some new faces and seeing the back of some old we gotta move on now, thanks for the good times but time to push on.

Well done Blades, on and off the pitch.
As usual made half of the first few pages on here look like twats.

Bounce killers, regardless.

The really interesting thing about Nottingham Forest is that they have won 2 European Cups, which is what you and I might now call the 'Champions League", but it's never mentioned

Trying to be level-headed here...what a fucking advert for the Championship that was over 2 legs. They were far better than us at the lane, we were far better than them tonight. Tale of 2 keepers...Wes kept us in it on saturday, Samba did the same for them tonight. Once it goes to pens it's a lottery either way...Norwood's pen was decent, but outstanding save. Hourihane's was shit but they still got a bit lucky...MGW's was just wank, sadly.

The unnecessary attack on Billy aside, I find it hard to bear them any ill-feeling. 2 very similar clubs played 210 minutes of great football (in patches either way) and someone had to lose. I'm sad, but it happens.
