Exactly don’t forget the inspirational words from our chairman when he was appointed - that the manager won’t be judged by results on a Saturday afternoon. i.e. he is being brought in as a ‘yes man’ to oversee a reduction in the wage bill/operating costs and to bring through youth team players to sell on. What we have here is a coach Heckingbottom who has been handed a squad of players and has been told to make a team of them.
To me it looks like he doesn't even have a budget or if he has doesn't know how much is in the pot.
Looks to me like he is having very little or no say on player recruitment or sales, this seems to be decided by the money men rather than it being a football decision.
It all looks a bit like S6.
A owner who hasn't got a clue like Chansiri,
Player recruitment done by an outside agency or in our case Jan van Wankle sat on his arse in Dubai.
When it all comes crashing down get in a cheap coach Jos Lahukay we get Hecky.
Expensive highly paid players who turn out to be shit that you can't get rid of ...................... we have surpassed anything the pigs have done here.
It is only a matter of time but we are going down might not be this season but it is inevitable if we follow the present path.
I dread to think what we would get should Hecky become pissed off with it all and leave, Stuart McCall anyone (shudders at the thought) a serial failure everywhere he has been.
Probably for the best that we will see very little of the Prince or his Italian lawyer let them stay in Saudi Arabia probably do less damage that way, this isn't Football Manager this is real life where mistakes and bad choices affect real people. Another season of this shit and no one will want them anyway the place is fast becoming toxic much like the Prince's other pet project over in Belgium.

We always had hope and many I'm sure found ourselves watching the transfer window deals prog right up to 11.59.59pm hoping we would land a player or two.

But now i don't even feel the hope.

Not sure i can even be angry at the Prince, even though he was more than happy to lord it on SKY etc when we were in the prem. Its clear we were a hobby for his ego and the ridiculous United World - well - is just that.

He has no emotional connection whatsoever and can now see that its a lost cause - its throw the women and kids from the lifeboat time and the rower is Hecky who is on a hiding to nothing but will do his very best im sure and say the right things

I think that's exactly the case.
Professional people do things a certain way, unprofessional people do things a certain way too.

If we'd been 3-0 up at half time or even 4-0 up at half time there isn't a man, woman or child, unless completely deluded that could have relaxed, smiled, or enjoyed it, because history has shown us time and time again that we can't, we are not allowed that luxury.

And this is because from top to bottom for at least 60 years, they have been the most unprofessional football club pound for pound on the planet.

Due diligence on players.......don't make me fucking laugh United, it's always the same, a ragbag team of misfits that nobody else wants, they come cheap because nobody else wants them, they get their foot in the door, get a contract and show exactly why nobody else that DOES DO THEIR DUE DILIGENCE wants them.

This is the clubs fault for being the way that it is, a poison that has haunted us for generations that only "a fan" in the managers seat can hammer out of them for a short period of time.
All clubs have players that don't give a toss, there's always one or two in any group, but they make sure it isn't almost the entire squad.

Fucking Jesus. A bit of perspective. Preston is as tough a place to go when the fans are behind them with the backs to the wall. They had to go for it and did. No excuses we should see it out but let’s be rational. Hecky came in and steadied a sinking ship. We were in absolute control first half. We’re a game closer to MGW and Davies returning. Fulham are hitting everyone for 6/7 and we kept a clean sheet and picked up 3 points. We’re a different animal with MGW in midfield. We’ve played 5 away games on the spin and had 4 games called off.

Totally disagree. We were the better side 11v11 and were about to go 2-0 up. They go down to 10-men and their game plan changes fully. It's damage limitation and the hope that they can nick a goal back without conceding. Their game plan 2nd half was perfect. They nicked the goal and put us in panic mode.

If Brewster scores that in the 2nd half though, it's 3-0 and game over. That's the fine margins. They don't recover from 3-0.

A large part of blame goes on Hecky. Brewster and Ndiaye going off was criminal. McGoldrick and Sharp as a partnership is finished. I know he was trying to tighten up bringing on Berge and McGoldrick who are both comfortable on the ball, but why not do what Fulham do and continue to attack. Take no prisoners. We weren't in danger of drawing until those subs.

Any team that decides to attack us will do damage . We cannot cope with players running at us through the middle - we fold like a pack of cards usually

They were the four that have cost a fortune and made next to zero impact. So in theory getting rid would have next to zero impact, and we could trade off their “lost reputation”.

Brewster still gets picked for England’s youngsters. And some people are still apologising for Berge every week. So there was a chance that there was enough doubt to leave them with some value. Sadly they’ve all just removed all doubt - they are practically worthless.

Obviously throwing away a 2 goal lead to 10 men is a shocker, smacks of rank bad decisions from players and management. No one is happy, but some of the comments are laughable, we are not in a relegation battle, nor is sacking PH a sensible suggestion. Also criticising/praising post-match interviews is something I've never really thought much of.

We are a mid-table championship side at present, in need of a rebuild/re-shape whilst simultaneously cutting back the wage bill, seemingly quite dramatically.

We were a mid-table side when we beat Fulham, we were a mid-table side when we lost to Derby, we were a mid-table side when we were 2-up and cruising last night, and guess what we are mid-table side after throwing away 2 points.

Far as I'm concerned this season is a bit of a dead-rubber - we aren't remotely good enough to challenge for promotion and we won't go down. So we start the rebuild, which unfortunately has to start with cost cutting.

January is a stupid time to attempt a rebuild as prices are often inflated and recruitment difficult to get over the line.

Given form / wages of most of the deadwood it's also going to be nigh-on impossible to offload what we need to. We will need to wait for contracts to rundown and flog whatever we can.

It won't be until the Summer that we have an idea of the lay of the land. We'll have a better view of what the squad looks like and also PHs credentials as both a manager and whether he's the man to start the rebuild.

Yep , but they forgot to use a little bit of that PL money to build a good facility for football development.
