He’s no better than Wilder, does not know the club
What does this comment even mean? Have you never been in a job interview where they ask you what you know about the company? If so, have you ever said "fuck all" and got the job?

He's gone, move on !

I've put unsure , not because I didn't want a change ( I did chris had run his course) but I'm waiting for the first few signings, we'll then see if selles has recognised the weaknesses we had from last season ( it doesn't take a genius to see what happened after we lost Souttar)
And the first friendly to see how the players have reacted to his idea's. We've all read how he likes 4-2-3-1 so hopefully not much change there just round pegs in round holes.

You’ve missed Spackmsn out I know it was a short stay but that wasn’t his fault and he had a brilliant team playing brilliant football then came January
I loved our start under Spackman. Shame he got done over by the chairman selling our strikers.

He actually resigned as well. No waiting for a pay off.

Yes, I'm sure that's why they got rid of him.

Obviously, a bunck of Yanks from Cleveland OH know a lot more about Championship football than Wilder and Knill.
This is the point, changes are being made because CWAK will only ever result in Championship football.

I get that some fans love the parochial behaviour that we’ve always had, other fans see successes in other teams using other methods and wonder if that might work for us.

Personally I think it’s a good idea but I’m not sure if it will work for a club with a lot of fans who are backwards in their mentality. If we’re not romping the league all season there’ll be shoes off in the car park at the Johnny Foreigner board and manager.

I think the fans you describe are the ones who talk a lot and make most noise? Eventually they will settle down and accept the inevitable?
The Selles appointment will work or it won’t. Either way, Wilder is gone.

The Selles bit I’m unsure about, the change should be for the better if it’s done properly.

Looking at how our odds have changed at the bookies since the Wilder/Selles swap, at PaddyPowrr our odds on winning the Championship have come in from 17/2 to 15/2. So a relatively objective third party view considers it a pretty good move, although it’s only a small shift.

Yes, forgot him. He was the caretaker manager and our board were looking for a new manager but the fans wrote to the board telling them to make Spackman the permanent manager after a fine start to the 1997-98 season. I was ok with the decision but in hindsight I think the board should have appointed a more experienced manager because Spackman had "lost his bottle" and walked away!
that side under spackman played the best football i had seen since the early 70s john harris side very innovative system with quite often.our 2 full backs borbokis and quinn turning up in the centre forward position it was brilliant to watch

Spot on post Ancient.
Yes, the football under Nigel Spackman was exhilarating and so easy on the eye, and without doubt the best since John Harris. Lovely friendly person as well. Could easily have been one of our greatest managers if it wasn't for the greed of Mike McDonald..

yeah although obviously not quite the same quality of players it reminded me of the holland side of 74 with the system spackman used to this day still rate holland the best international side i have seen and that includes the brazil side of 1970 and the spain side of 2008 they were outstanding

Also, got to mention the brilliant 1978 Argentina side with the wonderful Mario Kempes and all the amazing Ticker-Tape scenes. Great times indeed!

Not sure what's the most tedious; the childish interpretation of how AI will be used, or referring to Selles as a yes man.

That opening game vs Sunderland under Spackman is still one of my favourite ever Blades performances. We were utterly magnificent that day.

The more I see your posts the more I start to believe you are a relative of Selles or at least on some form of pay roll…

Is there a threshold of failure he has to hit before you believe it’s not working out or is it blind optimism because you wanted Wilder out and even relegation is better than having Wilder at the club.

I’d of been fine if we had replaced Wilder with a Cooper, Dyche even Corberan or Wagner if you demand foreign change as they had fought it out around the top of championship with similar or smaller sized clubs than Sheffield united.

Is there a minimum number of points you would accept by say end of September that if not achieved results in change?

“even relegation is better than having Wilder at the club”

Anyone ever said that or are you just padding out your point?

The current shit show is down to the board. Not because they let Wilder go but because of the gamble with Selles and not backing him when the weaknesses were/are there even plain to see for a group of US soccer fans.

Then there’s the players. Cannon playing wide right shouldn’t lose him the ability to control a ball or make a short pass. Campbell was pretty anonymous, some will say he had little to feed on but he hardly put himself about. Peck sub standard first half, defensively better second. Brooks so easily turned back towards his own goal. Robinson putting as much into arguing than he does being a captain.

Hamer, O’Hare, Godfrey Barry and Bindon better, three loans and two players who could leave with interest, Burrows still not at his best, Seriki and One not showing much but hardly surprising with their limited chances.

And one more defender to add up to now!

“even relegation is better than having Wilder at the club”

Quite a bizarre snippet of a full point you chose there without any context…

A comment questioning if he has a breaking point with the current manager…

What’s bizarre is that you would include a comment like that as part of a question. Just filler.

No, no it is not…

It’s asking is there a limit or is there not and if there is not then the worst possible outcome of no limit is the specific mentioned.
