WBA would be a big and not easy job given the current reliance on loans this season. Add to that the likelihood of Pereira leaving and the remaining squad is arguably worse than Utd's. It would certainly require some significant investment to turn them into promotion contenders IMHO.

I think it would be a fairly safe bet to say AK will join him and possibly Matt Prestridge - it will be interesting to see whether anyone else goes, especially Paul Mitchell.
Mitchell would be a big loss. I know this years recruitment divides opinion but his contacts up until this point have built the club up from a very low base with frees and cheap signings. I don’t think he’s worked with wilder before coming here so him going wouldn’t be a given although the do know each other personally.

Wilder goes to WBA and that is one of the promotion spots gone next season IMO.

irregardless of what happened last year he’s imo the best manager on the market and if he’s not given money to waste will do a top job as he has done everywhere he’s been.
Itll be a massive rebuild, they dont have the players for his system

Let's see which CW turns to the Hawthorns, the hungry, down to earth, forward thinker, who isn't scared of anyone or the moaning, "can't compete with these", arrogant shell of a man who despite several statements to never do, slinked out the back door of BL.

Whichever it is, I hope we absolutely paste them, home, away and in both cups.
A few have said this "Wilder went out the back door" when I disagreed many laughed at my perspective. But just exactly did Wilder leave through the back door? Because he didn't stay the season? Because he resigned? The way I see it, whether you agree with Wilder's likely perspective or not, the job became untenable he was no longer able to bring in players of his choice - not only in January but it seems with lack of JOC replacement - we know we're going down, why stick about when the ownership have a different vision "the plan" as Wilder called it. Near the end it just looked like Wilder was at the end of his tether and why, under those circumstances, continue when he would have known he'd have been going in the summer anyway. I'd love to think if I was manager of United I'd have stayed unless sacked, but in reality none of the fans know how things behind the scenes went so wrong, I suspect Wilder just didn't see any point in staying any longer.

As for Wilder at West Brom, I think many of us thought that was the likely destination if Big Sam left. Wilder leaving always meant that realistically he could well have been a rival to United next season. It will be fascinating to see how he does there, I expect West Brom to be promoted if he does go there, but in my view bar Periera, who'll be leaving, our squad is as good, if not better than there's. I can't see any of our better players going there unless our new manager doesn't want them, in which case selling to a rival club isn't good business in any case. I wish Wilder all the best there, unless WBA take our promotion place! I don't particularly like Albion, always preferred Wolves out of the two black country clubs, he'd be moving to a smaller club than United going there in my view, but maybe one which he can achieve his vision of managing long term in the PL.

As I said a few days ago Wilder is going to WBA and he will be getting Josh Windass from the wendies apparently. Source is Josh Windass.

Talking out of his windass

(I don't know this, tap in for a lol)

Our signings over the last 18 months have been a disaster and Mitchell will have been party to most if not all of these. We will be better off without him around.

You think he should have a say on who we sign and refuse to sign those he doesn’t like?
What complete bollocks. He signs who he’s told to secure within the budget he’s been given.

Maybe the recommendations for high value players haven’t hit the mark but as those days are behind us at least for the short term his eye for lower league players capable of stepping up could be invaluable.

Exactly this.

Im a huge advocate of expanding our network, but we should still be scouring lower leagues and other teams youth set ups for talent as a part of that network- all the big clubs raid the lower leagues and academies as we well know. Mitchell has done well there before, so why not utilise his knowledge and make him head of lower league scouting?

Our scouting system needs additions not replacements.

Exactly the key is adding to people like Mitchell who’s expertise in certain areas has already been proven. Also worth remembering Mitchell will just recommend players not make a judgement on how much we should pay for them.

Terms agreed. Announcement of SJ next week, i know this because the Mrs is a football reporter. She knows her shit.
The only thing not quite adding up with your post and I’m not knocking it as I hope you are right, is that by now I would’ve expected Skybet to have shortened SJ odds to about 1/10 yet he’s been stuck on 4/6 for the last few days. Even some media reports are saying he’s likely to become manager. Just seems a bit odd that’s all?

it's 4/6 not 100/1 lol

When was he refused a JOC replacement?

it's 4/6 not 100/1 lol
I know my odds Adam

if SJ is done deal Skybet would normally show him at odds many many times shorter sometimes they suspend betting. They don’t want punters to win anything. At 4/6 he’s still backable. All I’m saying is itkers would have put their money down and he should be a lot lot shorter than he’s currently showing

if I knew Glyn Hodges post was a shoe in, then at 4/6 it’s pinching money

Markets don’t respond to rumour or industry whispers, it’s cold hard numbers nothing more than an algorithm. Sure they’ll suspend if it’s confirmed otherwise the decsioning systems run the show with no human interaction.
If a load of people laid money on him the odd will come in, simple as that.

I agree and that’s what I’m trying to point out. I expected the money to be down making the odds much shorter with all the done deal rumours and press saying he’s the likely manager and yet punters haven’t fallen for it

its that that’s giving me some doubt

I placed a big bet for a reason....
