Renewals straw poll

Have you renewed?

I've renewed. I'm not going to let my feelings for McCabe or the Board stop me following my club. Perhaps we'll see some of the glory hunting, fair-weather supporters on here returning if things pick up?

Perhaps we can all stand at the urinals and have another pissing competition about who has been where and how many grounds etc etc. Problem is, you might get the shock of your life when everyone puts their credentials on the table.

I'm with you on this one, and seriously, please don't feel sorry for me Lenners.

I can fully understand fans not renewing. I've been a Blade since being a kid the mid-seventies, had a season ticket for nearly 30 years and yet of the friends I go with (and have been all over the country with) a couple have not renewed last year and this.
I would like to say I feel sorry for those that haven't. I can't personally can't understand the feeling of seriously deciding that I didn't want a season ticket and so I suppose feel sorry for those people that have made this choice, but I can understand why people have, including long-time unbelievably loyal Blades.

For me, I still want to watch United, whatever the league.
I won't pretend for a few moments I haven't wondered if I really wanted to pay £409 and to watch this current lot, but then I think that some of the best times and most memorable were in the lower leagues. I know we are crap now, and I hate the current crop of over-paid wasters as much as anyone, probably more than most. I'm sure most of the current lot just view us as another notch in their career towards the bright lights of the Premiership in their mis-guided, over-inflated view of themselves. I am also not impressed that players who were keen to play for United when were in the Premiership and Championship and got handsome - too handsome - rewards for it, now seem too think they are too good to play in the 3rd tier with us. Problem is we can't afford to keep them, and frankly I don't want them anyway, but I'd love the club to tell them that they put us there and so they have to stay with us and have 1st division footballer stamped on their passport.
I'm sure we will get better, one day.

I hope the club does recover enough to attract some of the proper Blades back, and by that I don't mean promotion to the Premiership, I don't actually want those fans back tbh, but I am very concerned that a lot of fans have given up for good.

And fair play to you. Renew or don't renew its a decision we all make every season. Doesn't make you a better person one way or the other. Top post, constructive and honest.

There are different levels of glory hunting. For the likes of Man U, glory is winning trophies. For the likes of us, it's getting to the top flight. Our ground was packed for just about every game in the Premiership. Where are those fans now? Some of the comments on here are an absolute disgrace.....I won't go until X happens.....I've stopped going and don't even miss it ....I'm not going to renew because I don't like the fucking pies. If some of the people on here think so little of the Blades what the fuck are they doing on a Blades fans website?

You just don't get it do you. If Glory Hunting includes just being in the Premier League how come we got 25k+ the season after? Sheffield United are probably one of the greatest non-glory hunting clubs you could possibly support.

But keep on digging Deano, you might make ridiculous poster of the year award at this rate.

In the premier league our ground was fuller than it had been for many a year, but was not packed for just about every game. We had 6 attendances of less than 30,000 (almost one third of our matches) and 3 of those attendances were less than 28,000.

We'd have also had several gates over 40,000 with a bigger ground capacity and away capacity particularly.

Every club has fans attracted by success. Some of those fans become the hardcore of the future, some never go again and some will go a bit.

It's down to the clubs to work hard at keeping as many fans as possible from the good years and getting them to keep going to games. Sadly United have given up on that one.

Of course the only exception to the rule is Wednesday who don't have any part timers and always get 25,000 whatever the league and whatever their position.

I have renewed mine and my son's. I am hoping Adams will get rid of the deadwood and bring in up and coming players rather than sign "over the hill" Premiership players looking for the last big wages

I was at Huddersfield Uni for the Premiership Season and had a season ticket. I'm now back home in the IOM and don't. Can't answer for the other 14,999.

Poll added chaps.

I've renewed. Not found owt better to do of a Saturday yet.

That comment tells me you're a relative young 'un.
Glory hunting for 'the likes of us' should never be considered getting to the top flight of English football for ferk's sake.
Some of us think a lot more of United than that my friend.

Sadly you dont think enough about them to get them back up!!!

Looking forward to next season...I resigned my self weeks ago that we are down so am looking forward to the break and a fresh start (don't believe the last bit)!

Sadly, I and many thousands of others think more of the club than those running it.
Until that changes, we'll not be season ticket holders.
It's not as if the reality of what was happening hasn't been pointed out many times over on here.
As regards season tickets, it was pointed out they had to do something imaginative to keep people on board but in tune with every other major decision they've made in the last couple of years or so, they fucked that up as well.
They should have aimed to get 15,000 season ticket holders with cheap tickets but will end up with around 10,000 and much smaller crowds throughout the season as a result.
C'est la vie.

Should've listened to Lenners, we're losing the biggest Blade there is because they couldn't give him a cheap ticket$

Enjoy Meadowhall Lenners

Quite a roundabout way of telling us you haven't renewed but thanks for that that's all I wanted to know.

I renewed, not because I think we'll take the Division by storm or because I'm excited about our youngsters or whatever. Watching United is what I like to do with my time.
