There’s nowt wrong with your eyes....Green has always been opposite to red on the colour spectrum whilst pink is very closely related to red.Really....? We wore the green at Liverpool, Arsenal & Southampton.....my eyes must be different to yours, pink is a lot closer to red than green....
He appears to be wearing McBurnie's shooting boots.Preview of our away kit next season.View attachment 104263
Thats what it is. I was looking at it for ages trying to figure out what was strange about it.He appears to be wearing McBurnie's shooting boots.
That was my first thought when I saw we were playing in pink again. I am not colour blind but it was fairly obvious to me that both would be a similar light grey.Another terrible kit choice - light pink against light blue. FFS.
What on earth is wrong with the home kit against light blue???
Is today one where the green kit would have worked? In five minutes I could send a list for the ENTIRE SEASON of kits we shouldn’t wear against other teams. Problem solved.
I have offered to do this but the club just aren’t interested.
Yes, light v dark. It’s really that simple. Is today one where the green kit would have worked?
It does seem pretty obvious even to me, a non colourblind person, that these two kits are both a light shade.
The sarcasm in your post almost flew straight over my head then and I almost went on a tiradeToo many moaning about kit clashes these days.
Oh you’re so edgy in your non-PC bubble.I knew that'd rattle some cages. Firstly, to counter your first point, do you really want me to list the games where we've played in pink and lost? Secondly, if you really believe that pink is not associated with femininity in any way, shape or form, you've created your own little PC bubble that exists outside reality.
Amazing how different colours affect different people, I was fine with yesterday’s colours, Actually think that the pink is better than our home shirt as it’s a practically a white shirt.Another terrible kit choice - light pink against light blue. FFS.
What on earth is wrong with the home kit against light blue???
Thanks. Which posts of mine do you think are edgy?Oh you’re so edgy in your non-PC bubble.
So...Here is the club’s response to my question on the bad combination of colours across our three kits...
“With regards to the choice of the kits for the 20/21 season, upon the designs being produced by Adidas, these are then sent to the Premier League who will provide approval on the design. Upon receiving approval from the Premier League, the kit is then produced and worn as required throughout the remainder of the season. Unfortunately, at the time of design and approval, concerns regarding the colour of the kits were not raised by the Premier League. As noted, where Clubs come to have kits which are similar (such as both teams sporting red and white stripes), then an alternate kit must be selected.
We are now aware of the difficulties that may be experienced from certain colour combinations, and having received such feedback will ensure that this is reflected upon ahead of the kit selection for 21/22 season.”
At least he can pull his socks up though. He appears to be wearing McBurnie's shooting boots.
I think they're painted on.At least he can pull his socks up though.
Well done fella! Thats a good start, perhaps that will be the outcome, ask colour blind folk what they can and can't see on TV...So...
I replied to this email during the game against Man City basically pointing out that they repeatedly make the same mistake - despite there being no need whatsoever - and this is the response I got...
“We fully appreciate and have taken on board the feedback put forth within your initial email following the Southampton v SUFC fixture on 13th December 2020, and have responded proactively in our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Manager contacting a representative from the organisation Colour Blind Awareness to set up a meeting and discuss what we can do as a Club to continue to improve our accessibility; the meeting is scheduled to take place this week.
We plan to continue to work with Colour Blind Awareness moving forward regarding various features of the Club. As previously noted, we really value any feedback which can assist our Club in continuing our efforts to ensure that the Club is one which is inclusive.”
So that’s a start. Nothing happens anywhere these days without meetings.
I still think though that all it really takes is to ask a couple of colour blind fans at the start of each season which kit clashes to avoid and that is the problem solved.
Progress though!
A lot of the problem here seems to be the home kit having a white back, rather than colour blindness issues. Maybe that makes a good case for stripes on both sides, which we'd all prefer anyway. This is what I am going to send the club regarding away kit choices for the remainder of the season...
