Yeah I know... Its just Wilder and co keep banging on that it is a PROPER football club and the engagement of fans is better etc. Maybe it would be good to find a design thats nice and we could keep for more than than one season last time was 2002-2004 ffs.

They're never going back to multi year kits, not unless football entirely collapses financially.

Our engagement is great, it's the best in the league on twitter. Doubled the next one along, and we have a great online community.

To be honest I don't think having a kit vote is meaningful in any real way anyway. It'd have to be members/ ticket database/ season ticket holders only so as not to be compromised by knobheads (for example if there's one that is clearly not as nice, thousands of Wensdeh bastards would vote for it) so the reach of it would be limited anyway.

Does anyone do kit votes? It's not really a measure of anything. Inter Milan are a proper club but I don't think they have Giuseppe, 52 from Monza picking their kit.

Yeah I know unfortunately... wishful thinking lol.
Well someone has picked a pink away shirt apparently... that is a knobhead. More reasons to be called pigs.

Ordered a kit for the boy with his name, no6 (for Bash) and PL badge. Only £107 with postage 😂 I’m glad he hasn’t got a longer name!

The only constant thesedays seems to be the material they are made from.

Totally disagree with that. This season's home and the promotion home, both had lovely material on the front for the stripes. The rest of the shirts were standard nylon, but the stripes were almost woven type material.

A close up of the new kit suggests similar too.

If anything, since we've had Adidas, all the shirts have been manufactured using multiple styles of material as opposed to standard dyed nylon crap we had with Macron.

I'm looking forward to seeing the new training wear; the trackies and the long sleeved training tops were pretty good this time around, as well as the training t-shirts
I think they need to do proper polo shirts, not the ladies knickers material with iron on badges like they have now, but proper polo shirts with a proper embroidery badges!

This is what we want and all stripes on the back

it’s sold out for a reason ......its popular. Will I buy the new shirt...no chance

Too much white. The back of the kit really lets it down, but then again I didn't like the solid red back of this years kit. What is wrong with red and white stripes on the back? At least the red socks will mean we don't look like Derby County from the Kop when attacking the Bramall Lane end.

How about a return to something like this for the away kit?

We can't have that with this season's home kit. Solid red back on home and we may have a chance of a white away kit

Yeh they are too similar as there is too much white in our home kit!

Yeah, agree on that one, ten or so washes and the iron-on patches start to peel away. Although the embroided patches can be troublesome for the left nipple! Personally i'm happy to sacrifice the nipple for an embroided patch.

I have just been in the washbasket - and whilst I was there I inspected my son's 2019/20 Prem League shirt. You're right! 👍

The way it’s measured weights engagement in terms of likes, shares, replies. It’s not on active engagement in the sense that there is anything two-way on a meaningful topic they are seeking input on. That’s not to do down our social media work, which I think is excellently produced and delivered. But let’s be honest, the most we’ve had our views of fans actively asked in recent seasons is limited to man-of-the-match polls in games, or, quite ironically, the favourite historic kit polls run on twitter over lockdown.

I don't know what there is to be asked to be honest. Kits? Maybe, I don't think it makes sense to do a kit vote nowadays, ruins it for clicks and press because you don't get a real reveal, as everyone has seen it, and it could be abused by idiots.

I think the engagement from the club is done by observation. They normally do what we want them to do without having to ask which makes us feel a part of it, well it does me at least, they post things that sound as though a fan has posted it, the players also interact with our exploits on social media, things like Berge's song etc, and the decisions they make are common sense and widely agreed to be correct, like the ticket situations with C19.

Season tickets last season is the only time I've felt disengaged and wanting more two way communication.

We’ve plenty of things that we could actually engage fans to seek views/support on:
  • Stadium improvements: views on rail seating, facilities etc,
  • Ticketing
  • General views on kit preferences (what should be part of an ideal kit, not picking a design)
Other clubs have done some of the above – they probably aren’t captured/weighted in the engagement metrics.

Again, I like our social media stuff for what it is – a one-way comms vehicle to generate shareable material. We’re really good at this. But as you’ve kind of highlighted in mentioning the issue a year ago, we’re not good in engaging on even mildly important stuff related to the club. Or even basic stuff that might improve things. We don’t appear to be interested in that as a club, which I think is a real shame given how well we’re doing on other fronts.

I'm really happy today having found out that we ARE in fact having the red Premier League letters and numbers on the white back!

I posted previously that I wish we would have red lettering instead of black to even the colours out and voila :D

Oh aye, cos it's worked out amazingly well for Sunderland and Stoke in the past, hasn't it... 🤨

Disappointed with a mostly solid back, and further disappointed with it being white rather than red. I’m not sure why the club and suppliers find it so difficult to understand the fans want stripes front and back.

However, I do like the collar and I love the pixelated effect on the red stripes, so for me it’s a pretty good shirt when viewed from the front.

Pixels....
Can you lot do owt original ?

we got promoted without breaking ffp or receiving parachute payments. according to your lot that never happens so I’d say it’s pretty original.

not to mention the fact we didn’t get our pixel pattern off of google images, so a few more points of originality gained there...

You have had parachute payments actually. Went to Beattie and One Bryan Robson.
