Although not the PL, you can add Wendy 43 in 1989-90
Wasnt expecting remarkable results from Watford and Norwich over the weekend! With Bournemouth losing two points over the weekend also Leicester losing three points, according to my calculations, the magic points number is now 54. Or is it still 55 to you?I now have it down to 55 points. Man City are also guaranteed top flight football next season; Leicester will soon follow. Here is a mathematically possible final table, with points required to hit the current target of 55.

Probably not helped by the travel arrangements. I remember from the late1950s going on the same train as the team (+ 1or 2 spare players and 3 or 4 staff), and the club secretary buying the tickets (cheap-day returns)in a queue with the rest of us, for matches at places like Bristol. Not ideal.Looking at those numbers...teams didn't travel too well in those days!
In 1967 a shareholder spoke at the AGM saying that he was shocked to see our players getting the train for our FA Cup 5th round match at Chelsea and said that many first division clubs had their players travelling in the club coach to away matches. He said that we should have a club coach. After the AGM the club then decided that for away games the players would travel by club coach.Probably not helped by the travel arrangements. Still 54 as the max for 18th, so 55 for certain survival.Wasnt expecting remarkable results from Watford and Norwich over the weekend! Cheers, was fully expecting the number to go down after this weekend but there were surprise results! it always happens every season that in March and April when the top teams get the jitters and the lowly placed teams pull off surprises!Still 54 as the max for 18th, so 55 for certain survival.
I used West Ham rather than Bournemouth or Watford to go with Norwich, purely because they've only got Norwich still to play out of the teams to lose all their games in the model, so they could give up more points to those from 3rd down.
Yes unexpected wins for West Ham, Norwich and Watford have shaken the mix up at the bottom maybe dragging Newcastle into the group who could go down. Norwich for me still have too much to do, Villa despite having a game in hand are in real trouble. One point separates the next four teams and Newcastle are just 5pts above the last relegation spot, could get interesting.
Now 53 according to my calculations, same for you?Still 54 as the max for 18th, so 55 for certain survival.
