I’ve had my weather apps for 10 years and to be honest Sunday is the highest rainfall measurement I’ve ever seen Sheffield have in the last 10 years.
It’s easily a months (more like 6 weeks) rain hitting Sheffield crammed into 12 hours.
According to the app it’s going to be medium raining all through the night/ early morning, then 9am whilst 12 noon it turns into heavy rain.
Then 12 noon whilst 6pm, there will be an almighty monsoon style downpour where it’s bouncing off the roads and pavement.
Then at 6pm it turns into very light rain the rest of the night and eventually stopping about 10pm
Don’t think I’ve ever seen at close quarters a torrential downpour at the same time as 30 to 50 mph gale force winds.
The rain will be flying horizontally, if winds gets inside the stadium then surely the players won’t be able to see the ball properly.
The app says temperatures will hit a warm 13 degrees when the match is due to start....so at least it won’t feel cold.
Has anyone ever played football in these types of conditions?
Wonder what the official word is from the club? Is there actually a serious chance it could be cancelled?
I can understand cancellations for snow and ice but surely it’s rare that a top flight game could be cancelled due to storm conditions.

Met Office now saying heavy shower instead of heavy rain, and a bit of sun peeking through the cloud. Should be fine, I hope...
The Desso was always going to cope with the rain it’s the high winds that might make it a bit farcical
You could just bring Roo with you if you're that worried. The wind speeds on the forecast seem to be creeping up. Now showing at 59mph at midday.
Hopefully everything in the garden is secure.

I don't think any decision to postpone it will be down to inside the ground unless the pitch is waterlogged, it’s more likely how safe its going to be to travel and streets around the ground, so it’s have to be made early for the Bournemouth fans sake.
