The arguments about Wilder are the same England fans had about Southgate. Some will point to the dour football and failure to achieve at the final hurdle as reasons to want him out while others will point to his record and say we were simply just unlucky in the end.

It's not as simple as "we didn't get promoted so sack him" or "he got so close so keep him". If you think he still has it him to go one better next season then I can totally understand the reasons behind that given his track record but I can also understand people thinking he's now just a manager who's best days ars behind him and the game has moved on from him.

92 points will likely not be enough again next season. I think the difference in quality between the parachute payment teams compared to half of the league means were going to see huge points totals needed to go up for the foreseeable. The question is whether Wilder has it in him to better last season and not just match it.
Agreed and next season we have 3 "parachute money" clubs to compete with but then we also have 3 decent sides getting promoted this year in Brum, Wrexham and Charlton. Although 2 out of the 3 are unknown regards to quality at this level now they are "back" it will be interesting to see the split and scrap for top and bottom half this coming season.

I wrote something rather ruder but I've edited it to say I disagree wholeheartedly.

We've got 92 points and at worst have achieved par for the course this season given that we had the third highest wage bill. Most seasons 92 would be enough for promotion.

I was one of the few who said we'd be right up there this season which I've been proved right. As for Sunday we had some bad luck with injuries to Hamer and Anel who was off the pitch at the time of their goal. VAR could have gone either way but I actually thought it was the correct decision.

Brooks and Moore both missed presentable chances. Watson and Mayenda are easily some of the best players in this league as are Ballard and Bellingham. I was gutted when they beat Cov because I think we'd have beaten Cov.

We need stability, we need continuity and we need to let Wilder continue to lead the club and transform the side which he did last summer.

Its utter waffle

How did Wilder transform the club? Are we the only club ever to be relegated? That's had to sign more than 3 or 4 players, we kept our best players and signed the best players in the champ on frees or decent fees

Wilder wants you to think that this time last year, we had no players, but we had a top championship squad, we just needed a few more players, as does every club, because then Wilder can tell everyone what a fantastic job he has done

The game was lost because Wilder lost it with his poor tactics. This isn't Wilder of 5 years ago. Wilder is yesterday's man We need the new modern manager, not a dinosaur who has no tactics at all, as we have all seen

You are allowed to say wilder has done a good job and also say we need better

We have had enough CW it’s time for someone new Hand in your notice …

We lost the game because of wilders biggest tactical and managerial flaws

1) Insiting on playing Robinson whilst it’s clear for all to see Holding is better , it is a great goal by Sunderland but better centre back doesn’t let Mayenda have 2 yards of space a better one gives him half a yard and makes the shot harder

2) Wilder has no game plan and resorts to sitting back as we have seen multiple times this season over and over again we sat back from the 46th minute and got exactly what we deserve

For me it’s time for wilder to walk or the new ownership to grow a pair

Wilder is yesterdays man anyone who has watched the majority to games this season can see we have no game plan and no attacking pattern of play

Yes we got 90 points but that was very fortuitous , and because of top championship players not because of a tactical set up

He also gas lights the fanbase constantly telling us how bad the situation is/was at the club forgetting we signed a 10 mill striker a loanee who was quality in the prem and a centre back who he refused to play with 100 appearances for Arsenal

Wilder becomes toxic every single game he’s either high as a kite or blaming everyone and causing scraps how much have we forked out in fines

Sorry Chris it’s time to go
“We” isn’t everyone
