So after the disappointment of last Friday we're back on the road with the trip to bottom of the table Ipswich Town. So presumably an excellent chance to bounce back....

But historically we know how these things often go....

But anyway....

Any team news? :)

Clarke back in contention?

Starting line up same as last Friday?

As I've alluded to, any Blade over a certain age knows these types of games are just as tricky as any. Under Wilder though, we have generally achieved the expected results against teams lower in the league. Mostly, but certainly not always. There'll be lots of twists in the season yet, but I don't think many of us would be disappointed if our current league position was our finishing position.

Hopefully today we get back to winning ways and improve on recent form in the next couple of months. 3-1 Blades win today...

Safe journey all and Merry Christmas.

- - - - - - - - - Henderson

Basham - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Stevens

Fleck

- - - - - - - Sharp - - - - McGoldrick

Subs: Moore, Baldock, Johnson, Lundstram, Duffy, Washington, Clarke

That's what I'd like to see today.

Basham can't be less effective than Baldock has been. Something needs to change for Fleck, this should be a good game to try that midfield with Coutts coming back. It would be nice to be able to use the bench effectively for once and Duffy would provide that option.

Coutts doesn’t look anything like ready to me but I think Wilder might throw him in today but probably for Fleck rather than Duffy.

Bash can do a job on the right but some times he hasn’t looked to have the legs to get up and back quickly enough.

Might we play the same tactics as v Reading and aim to hit them on the counter? If so Washington may get a start.

Away wins at QPR, Bolton,Millwall,Blackburn,Brentford and Reading show that we are good on the road against out of form teams so relax and enjoy the impending victory. 2-0 Blades.

Expect changes today with a few to be rested before we face FLDC. Maybe looking to keep it tighter in midfield and defence, playing more direct. Change things up second half if needed, as we did v Reading.

Think we’ll revert to the Reading away line-up again. Duffy and Sharp will then come back in for the Derby game.

Not a bad side, but I'd give McIntyre, Treadmore and Davitt a run upfront.

Fair point. I just felt this one might have come a bit too soon following their unfortunate issue with the donkey after their charity visit to the orphans nativity the other night.

Glad to see Clarke back. Come on Blades.

Anyone else sick of hearing the same thing over and over again "united were much the better team" so so slow when given a crossing opportunity. Why hasn't this been worked on. Why are we still making the same stupid mistakes time and time again..

McGoldrick and Fleck both having poor games, and that goal should have been defended with ease – the blame resides on whoever passed it back to Henderson, who did extremely well to get to it given how short he’d been left. Poor pass, poor reaction to Henderson’s kick, an altogether defendable goal that we should never let have happened. Infuriating half.

Almost every game feels like groundhog day.

It's certainly not luck going against us.

I'm just not sure what the exact answer is within our budget and capabilities.
