Maths isn’t your best skill is it?
Wilder said we had a good sell on clause. When the time comes we should see some good profit.
Probably been let go by City taught him loyalty in football is few and far
Given that many think we’ve been royally screwed on this deal, I’d be interested in a big list of players that have played so few games and generated such a transfer fee. Should be fairly easy given the apparent giveaway of Brooks.
Anyone care to list them?

There’s plenty on here claiming we’ve been screwed. It’s that point I’m addressing. We haven't been screwed
But being screwed and selling are two different things and two different discussions
Didn’t he go on to almost break into Torquay’s first team?Lee Morris. Sold too soon for a remarkable £3m at the time – we never got to see how bad his injuries would have been with us had he stayed.
Willing seller - that's the situation summed up in two words!!

Hypothetically speaking, DB's value is probably currently £10m upfront with £5m in add ons.
Spurs bought Georges-Kévin Nkoudou, a french winger in 2016 for £11m from Marseille. He was 21 at the time, had 50 top league appearances under his belt and was an u21 international. They also bought Juan Foyth in the summer, a 19yr old Argentinian CB for £8m. He'd only made a handful of appearance in Argentina and a dozen u21 appearances.
Everton bought Nikola Vlašić, a 19 yr old croatian winger for £10m in the summer, but he'd got nearly 100 appearances for Hadjuk Split. They also paid £7.5m upfront plus £3.5m add ons for Lookman in 2017.
Watford paid £8m to Derby for Will Hughes in the summer as well, as vastly more experienced player and only a couple of years older.
Ademola Lookman (English) left Charlton, signed by Everton for £7.5m + £3.5m.
Will Hughes (English) left Derby, signed by Watford for £8m.
Nathan Redmond (English) left Norwich, signed by Southampton for £10m.
Jacob Murphy (English) left Norwich, signed by Newcastle for £12m.
Alex Pritchard (English) left Norwich, signed by Huddersfield for £10m + £2m.
Lewis Cook (English) left Leeds, signed by Bournemouth for £6m + £4m. (Liverpool rumoured to have recently offered £20m)
Jordan Ibe (English) left Liverpool, signed by Bournemouth for £15m.
Nathan Chalobah (English) left Chelsea, signed by Watford for £6m.
Demarai Gray (English) left Birmingham, signed by Leicester for £4m. (Liverpool rumoured to have recently offered £12m)

Yes some people are.
I've not got a problem with the fee for a young player. I just think we should have kept him for one more year to try for promotion, with the promise that he can leave next summer if we don't go up.
I think he would have improved dramatically this season at Championship level, and with a couple of additions to the squad like weve made in Norwood we could have had a right go at it
If we'd got promoted and Brooks was in the team we wouldn't be losing him to Bournemouth for £12 million, he'd be staying
Once he'd proven himself in the Premier League the only place he's going is Man Utd, City, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or abroad for £50 million minimum
It's because I can only assume you are 12 years old and yet to be broken In by the big bad world and I don't want to be the one to do itThat because you know I am right , isn't it , you know it make sense !
Surprised me there by saying what I was going to say; once you are in the Prem (and not getting relegated), those are the only clubs you have to worry about taking your talent and then it's the 40, 50, 60 million quids worth of us still getting ripped off instead of 3, 5 or 12 million!Once he'd proven himself in the Premier League the only place he's going is Man Utd, City, Spurs, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea or abroad for £50 million minimum

Some fair points. However, last season’s team wasn’t ever going to get promoted.Yes some people are.

Someone press the “get promoted to premier league button” quickly then!Surprised me there by saying what I was going to say; once you are in the Prem (and not getting relegated), those are the only clubs you have to worry about taking your talent and then it's the 40, 50, 60 million quids worth of us still getting ripped off instead of 3, 5 or 12 million!

Reinvestment of the revenue from the Brooks sale makes challenging more likely, in my opinion.
If it was as simple as just keeping your best players and backing the club then youd be right and everyone would do it
As for saying all they had to was play football ?
Do you realise how stupid that sounds ?
Bourne.outh had a billionaire Russian oligarch breaking financial fair play rules to get in the prem
Try and have a little degree of balance and reason In your posts
I'm still struggling to understand the outrage.
I could understand if we'd sold a player influential to the team and not replaced them, but that's not the case.
The only way we'd have avoided selling him at some point would have been if he went to shit.
The only scenario I can think of that those slagging the sale off can be thinking would have happened is that he'd have been a certainty to fire us to promotion this season.
Similar to the DCL sale, I can see these threads being bumped every time Brooks scores a goal or has a decent game. 'He's scoring for Bournemouth in the Premier League, fuck off McCabe.'
It's not blurb and no one's apologising ,it's a fact
You can choose to ignore it but it is a fact of life
We lose money, the higher the wage bill the more we lose
but it doesn't mean we have to sell every fucking single prospect we have.
That’s the difference with footy fans though. Some dream to see the best players playing great footy in the top league.
Others are just happy to watch the footy on a Saturday with their mates.
Nothing wrong with both!
I'd love to see us do that, but I'd have been amazed if David Brooks was the one who'd have got us there.
it (market forces and our current position in the food chain) actually does ,everyone worth selling that isI didn't say otherwise. I said this and this is the bit you conveniently overlooked:
We will end up receiving £15m for him. Nothing he did for us suggested a fee higher than that.
I don't know how some of you are going to cope when you realise that Santa doesn't exist or that the tooth fairy is really mummy and daddy
I think some of you must just refuse to u erstand how modern football works and the fact thst Brooks wanted to go and his agent had got him a move to a premier league club means either we keep an unhappy player who's value drops or we sell a player and strengthen a team that badly needed strengthening all the rest is just either focusing on the negatives or the positives and not the facts
Just watching him batter West Ham on Match of the Day and am confused as to how to feel...
Proud, teary eyed about the player we've lost and angry that at £12m - it looks like we had our leg lifted...
Though if someone offered you a 1.2 million signing on fee and 4/5 times your salary you would stay in your present job ?
