Quiet on here about tomorrow's game other than the thread about the return of Nigel "Mad" Adkins. Personally, my view is that we should treat him with the utter indifference he treated us with and just ignore him.

It's a chance for some rotation: we've not started the season particularly well but at the same time there's a lot of new signings to include. I can see starts for Leonard, Woodburn and Moore and squad places for Bryan, Lafferty and Norwood. I'm also assuming that McGoldrick's dead leg will keep him out.

Moore
Egan Stearman Lafferty
Baldock Leonard Fleck Norrington-Davies
Woodburn
Sharp Clarke
Subs: Eastwood, Bryan, Freeman, Norwood, Basham, Duffy, Hallam

might be good to give Norwood a run out get him used to the home of football. UTB

Definitely leave Sharp in the team, he's still gaining match fitness and you never want to drop a player after he's scored. I actually think Clarke could benefit from a mental rest, he's putting himself under too much pressure and he just needs to get back to playing his own game.

Stearman, Leonard, Freeman, Duffy and Sharp all need game time so should start for me with 3 of the five being subbed during the game to rest for Saturday. Assuming Baldock, Bryan and McGoldrick are still injured I'd go with 3-4-2-1

Moore
Freeman Leonard Stearman Lafferty Norrington Davies
Norwood Lundstram
Duffy Woodburn
Sharp

Subs Eastwood, Egan, Basham Stevens, Hallam, Lavery, Clarke.

Kop's not even open. Says it all. Seems like we don't even want this to be a proper game.

Ticket sales still poor for the other stands though.

Could the club have advertised it better or made it cheaper?

Looking forward to seeing a few of the 'fringe' players get a bit of game time. I wonder if, now that McG is injured, if Lavery will get a place in the squad (and a squad number!) or we could see Woodburn playing up top. Hoping Norwood gets a start.

There was a queue for tickets when I got mine today at lunchtime. Maybe the Norwood signing might put a few more on the gate.

Good chance to get some minutes for a few players, Freeman, Sharp, Norwood, Egan, Clarke, Bryan, RND, Leonard, Lundstram could all do with playing for various reasons.

Cheaper?

It's cost me a fiver on the new south stand.

How cheap would you like it?

Maybe they should pay us to attend?

Anyone that says they are not going because of the pricing just plain and simple doesn't want to go and they're making the most feeble of feeble excuses to justify their actions to themselves.

I don't give a monkeys' who goes and who doesn't but pricing is definitively not the reason we will get a poor crowd.

A match between 2 reserve teams in a competition that neither is likely to win is the reason that the crowd will be around the 5k mark.

I would like to see quite a bit of rotation.
---------------------------moore----------------------
-----------basham--stearman--bryan-------
Baldock-----------------------------------------ND
-------------Leonard--------lundstram--------
------duffy------------------------woodburn-----
-------------------------sharp-------------------------

That team is probably good enough to win too which I think most of us want :)

You can't play Sharp up front on his own, may as well play with 10 men, maybe give lavery some game time alongside him.

I quite like the early round cup games. Generally get to see a few players on the fringes of the team.

I enjoy them too, that's why I always go but equally I can understand why some people don't, especially if money is tight, but there is a limit as to how low the prices can go if the club are to have any chance of covering match day costs.

I think if you are playing Duffy and specifically Woodburn behind you can get away with it.

Duffy will playmake inbetween the lines and Woodburn is more likely to make the runs around and beyond sharp.

George Long will likely be in goal tomorrow for Hull. His first appearance at The Lane since THAT Southend game I think.

No doubt there will be some morons to boo him at this one too – the perfect continuation of his time at the Lane with us.

Cheaper, it's £12! Isn't it???
In S6 that equates to........£47!!

Kop wasn't open against Walsall either was it? I don't remember seeing anyone in it.

Something like this I reckon........

................................................Moore...............................................

.......................Basham..........Stearman.........Bryan.........................

Freeman...............................................................................Lafferty

..............................................Leonard..............................................

.....................Lundstram................................Fleck...........................

..............................Sharp........................Woodburn.........................

Subs:

Eastwood
JOC
Egan
Norrington - Davies
Norwood
Duffy
Clarke

I am assuming that neither Baldock or McG won't be risked due to their knocks. God knows what is going on with Lavery, is he even here anymore?

So the excitement of the cup is finally upon us with the eagerly anticipated visit of Hull city in the first round of the Carabao Cup. With the glamour tie of the round to boot.... So with that bull crap out of the way, how many changes will Chris make? Win every game is obviously positive but this really is the lowest of our priorities....

So....

Any team news?

Mcgoldrick definitely out?

Norwood and Woodburn likely starters?

Other changes?

So hopefully we can use this game to get the newer players up to pace for the game at the weekend, and avoid cards and injuries in the process. So I suggest enjoy the game, without too much relevance in the result. 1-0 Blades

A little off topic here, but i have upgraded my sons season ticket to an adult ticket for the weekend game against Norwich and was susprised to see that it is deemed as a category A match with adult tickets starting from £27.

As an ST holder i never check the cost of individual match day tickets but this seemed very high to me.

A quick check of the owls website shows that their tickets for the next two homes games (Milwall and Ipswich) start at £25 as they are classed as D/E fixtures.

I then checked some of our other upcoming home fixtures to see that the villa game is category A* (tickets from £31) and the Preston game is also a category A (£27 again).

Maybe the discrepenecy between match day tickets isn't actually as much as is generaly perceived (or maybe i just chose some bad example matches).

You can play the Ladies for me. No interest in this cup whatsoever.

Weird situation. As if we win great for momentum & get 1 over on adkins. who struggled to win at bramall lane when he managed us. But if not league cup is abit nothing as get no prize money until semi finals even then its only £25,000 & is bit of fixture congestion

Well I must be the only one quite looking forward to it. Hoping we get to see starts for Lenny, Norwood, Bryan and Woodburn - certainly worth a tenner.

Thought Bryan might play tonight??
