Impressed:
Sharp. Legend.
Basham. He effectively replaced Lundstram and Leonard and did a better job than both.
Freeman. Quiet first half but he was involved in most of our attacks second half.
Norwood. Played some lovely balls.

Didn't:
Leon. Should have done better with the chances he had.
Woodburn. He's a young lad and has plenty of time to come good, but tonight wasn't his night
Leonard. Wasn't terrible, but it was a chance for him to stake a claim for a first team place and he didn't do that.
Stevens. No end product.

I enjoyed today's game, a decent match. Norwood showed what a quality player he is (maybe not take penalties). We need to practice shooting this week, not to hit so many over the bar! I thought Hull had a clear penalty appeal turned down, maybe our disallowed goal for offside was wrong and possibly the last minute header crossed the line?

Lundstram looking more comfortable with Norwood available.

More than once he had the ball and was begging for a run, whilst Duffs wandered beside him.

Contrast Norwood, who was continually making himself available.

Understand he potentially had concussion, but other than a couple of passes, thought the bounce killer struggled.

Did you think that in 2015 when we played Spurs in the semi finals. I want to see is in a cup final one day, sadly that's one down for this season.
No but it's worse since then. League 2 teams play their reserves now, becoming pointless

Overall it became a enjoyable game. In the second half anyhow. I think Atkins has found his home at hull. They surprised me how decent they were, considering they made more changes than us as well. Norwood had a great debut, and is a classy player like people are already saying. Best of all was his corners, which were all great deliveries. Considering hes only had one training session with the team, its something they can now work on, and even maybe get some goals from now! Woodburn had a poor first half, but did get better as the game went on. Sadly though, seemed to lack confidence in front of goal. Clarke plays in front of Billy because he is more mobile and presses more, but Sharp scores goals! So its a tough one! We need another striker or even two I feel. The defense is the biggest worry though. They were all over the place when Hull broke. Better teams will put us to the sword and finish us off before we can even get going!

Enjoyed the game on the whole,Hull's goal was very well worked and they were the better side in the first half.

Chances galore missed by various players in the second half, they need some shooting practice.

Norwood deserved MOM,he will be a good addition, can move the ball quick when needed.

Good goal taken very well by Bill.

Penalty's shoot out, dont think i have ever seen us win one of them things and i'm long in the tooth.

Unable to really comment on the game. As working at radio Sheffield probally rightly focused on Barnsley away to blackpool. Sounds like norwood had a fantastic debut bar the penalties & 2nd half we really shouldve won. So very positive. Although typical adkins couldnt win for toffee at bramall lane when he was our manager. But can as opposition manager

Dont get me wrong winning always nice, but i was ambivalent pre match. As the only cup im interested in is the fa cup. That should be full strength. as there was benefits to either outcome win. Keeps the momentum. Even if we lost. We dont have to play an extra game in 2 weeks without even a chance of glamour toe. Doesnt really get going until December in 4th round. When your looking towards a quarter final. Also if i remember correctly no prize money til Semi Final & you get as much money for fa cup 1st round & 40 grand more for reaching FA Cup 3rd round than winning league cup

One thing I saw which I liked was Norwood marshalling the defence and generally telling people where they should be, and it worked.

Defence is the weak link, as much as up front imo. We need more strikers obviously and an injury would shaft us big style but as is we have Billy Sharp who will score goals if we play like this, as will Leon eventually and McGoldrick.

Our defence though is mostly settled or well regarded, but they look like pigeons going for a crumb most of the time. All rush to the ball and leave huge gaps, can't clear it most of the time and it takes conceding most of the time before they wake up. We go to sleep constantly.
