I thought Sharp did really well holding the ball up against Inter... against much taller defenders too. Much better than Leon IMO.

One of Wilders biggest mistakes is not playing him. Much like years ago Porterfield didn’t play Edwards.

I wouldn’t have him starting Saturday not by a long way. If we sign another striker say Waghorn etc it will but Bill at 4th choice striker. He struggled at Mansfield and again tonight at doncaster. His build play is so much poorer than Mcgoldricks.

I said at the start if we sign another striker I can see him wanting to leave for game time.

Billy is quite rightly down the packing order, but he's a great option to have in the squad. He won't kick up a fuss and will be waiting for his chances off the bench. Whilst continuing to be a leader in the club.
However if it was a case of needing to shed some wages to improve the team we would have to do it.

I think the intention is to start the Season with Mcgoldrick and Clarke but if one or both got inured (not unlikely) or Clarke was not able to find the form of the first half of last season (equally possible) then we would be very short of goal scorers in the squad.

It would be borderline negligent to go into the season with a front 3 of Clarke, mcgoldrick (with his injury record) and Lavery who doesn’t even have a squad number.

We would need at least 2.

Hopefully rumours like this mean we’re nearly close with a forward and/or we see Woodburn playing off one of the forwards and might go for another attacking mid
