I think I’ve already got one with I should coco, if memory serves but you can have a tenner as well on the same terms by all means.

Totally on Pinchy side here.

Sharp, if he doesn't score is either giving the ball away, backing into a defender and falling over, or tussling with defenders.

Basically if he doesn't score, he's a waste of a shirt.

(In my opinion of course).

From what I've seen of preseason I would say Sharp is ahead of Clarke for me.

As the current squad stands I would start Goldilocks and Sharp against the Swans. Clarke to get the last 30 mins because he doesn't look up to speed yet.

I'm in no position to discuss pre-season, have only seen goals, not much action I'm afraid.

Thought I'd better get Sam back on page one !

With Waghorn out of the picture Id have thought it's all out for Gallagher now. If we can't afford proven championship goalscorers then we have to take a gamble somewhere and this lad seems as good a gamble as any 'unproven' striker and we must have already done our work on him.

Time and alternatives seem to be running out !

It doesn't matter who is up front if good chances aren't being created.
We've known for 6 months what needed to be done, we need drive, skill, fitness, athleticism, ability, creativity and pace in midfield, midfielders capable of 30 goals between them.
But as usual workhorses are cheaper than thoroughbreds so that's what we've end up with and an exciting attacking team that was a couple of pieces of the jigsaw short now looks flat, boring, slow and prone to hoofball because no other option is available

How many midfields at other clubs can you name that score 30 goals a season between them?

With Ings signing for Southampton, does this open up the loan option of Gallagher?

Probably and its whether we're at the head of the queue since they're seems to be a lack of decent forwards available, I would imagine we'll be one of several interested.

Can’t see it. The deal would have been done earlier in the window if it was gonna be done.

Southampton were clearly willing to let him go. We won’t pay the wages he wants to be here - someone will I imagine.

But it won’t be us.

Agreed. Right now I'm totally sick of the whole window, like most of us to be honest, its as bad as the January window from Wilson's time when we sold Blackman, lost Miller to injury and then only signed Forte - although we got Murphy.

Before the window started we all knew we needed another attacking mid to replace the likely departed Brooks and two forwards; one likely to rival Leon and one to rival Billy. We got Woodburn, who hopefully will do well, but I would have preferred Maddison and we've signed McGoldrick who I expect was signed only when Wilder realised he couldn't sign the likes of Gallagher. Its not being a good window at preset but there's still a three weeks to go of the loan window and if that ends without more reinforcements then its mid table at best.

I do think Henderson and Egan will prove decent though.

I know we've only played 2 games and I'm not trying to be clever Booker but how do you think Egan will be decent after his 2 shocking displays so far. Blind faith perhaps ?

Based on his reputation at Brentford and Gillingham. I know he's being poor thus far but he was the captain of Brentford and the whole team has being out of sorts in the two games and he's yet to settle.

Wasn't Baptiste the same at the start - and then everyone wanted to keep him when his loan expired?

Well Southampton have signed Danny Ings.

So that should completely free up Sam Gallagher.

And judging by Clarke's start to the season, we need him more than we thought.

Just pay the fucking wages, United.

A decent full career before those 180 minutes, just maybe?

As Wilder has acknowledged, we ARE upping our wage structure (as demonstrated by the likes of O’Connell having TWO new contracts since promotion) but this has to be done gradually to keep squad harmony. Having a player come in and being the best paid wouldn’t be a problem. Having him on 10k more than anyone else would. Remember we were a long standing league one club only 16 months ago
