Kit thread: Here we go!!!!!!!!!!!

They gave Watford stripes, they haven't had proper stripes since 1923, and even then it was black and white stripes. They've never had a black and yellow striped kit.

Fuck knows what's going on over at Adidas.
Watford's kit history is a bit mixed to say the least. From random green, red and yellow stripes/hoops to black and white to plain blue to plain yellow to yellow and red then yellow and black: you could argue they were due a change. http://www.historicalkits.co.uk/Watford/Watford.htm

Half n half shit kit proof tonite.

Black socks with as much red as possible urgently required. They're not going to do anything about the kit and we all know it (unless they get them screen printed or something on the back by a third party and potentially break contract with Adidas) The socks would be a small thing and make a big difference in the not looking like Derby stakes.

WELL DONE ADIDAS AND SHEFFIELD UNITED!!!!!

NEW KIT HAS BEEN VOTED "WORST IN THE LEAGUE!!".........

Even Brentfords brown monstrosity is voted better!!!!!

FFS!

HAS IT? WHERE? WHO BY? WAS IT KOZZY?

WHY ARE WE TYPING IN CAPITALS?

Seems about average to me on football shirt culture.

Our was 1/10, Brentfords 2/10, ours must be total shit if theirs is shit.
Oh, it is.

Bristol Post.

Randomly though. They give Brentfords home kit 8/10 and our home kit 1/10... make ya fucking mind up

If you saw this kit from the front, it would be a typical, unremarkable Sheffield United kit. The back, though, makes this feel like two different kits sewn together, along with an incredibly tacky logo - it makes it look like the players would be working at Doordeals, rather than playing football. Bizarre choice.

If the Bristol Post say so it must be true.

FFS.

Also Brentford's home kit is ours with a round neck and a few colours changed on the big Adidas template machine so how's that work?

Is not having DoorDeals on the back really worth 7 points?

Oh it's shit. But if ours is shit, Brentfords is equally as shit.
It's better than ours, but it still isn't very good.

I think that's worse to be honest. That looks more like 2 kits sewn together than ours does.

At least ours is very white from the front and very white from the back.

So thanks to Adidas Brentford look like Rotherham United and we look like Derby County!

You get the impression that Adidas view the front of the shirt as the clubs colours as they should be and the back is merely for he numbers and names of the shirt. Obviously when you're wearing your clubs colours the back is as likely to be seen as the front, other than when standing in the ground.

Seems that way. Completely ignoring the fact that the majority of fans who buy the shirt won't be getting a name & number printed on the back.

We're the only kit they give 1/10.

Can't even argue with it. It's an absolutely pathetic effort.

They didn't even try to salvage it with acceptable looking sponsor logos FFS.

Don't speak out or voice your opinion, we simply have to wait until next year and hope they get it right then.

I think we should show our displeasure at the new kit!!

Cherry street carpark, Tuesday 7pm, bring every shoe you can find!!

Or voice your opinion but don't assume it's correct, shared by everyone, the only one that should be heard and don't imply people who don't share it are in some way pathetic, stupid or meek.

It's not like you're being repressed on here. A lot of people don't like it, just nowhere near as many as the 95% I've had quoted at me which was in response to a poll about the back of the shirt, not the shirt in general.

I don't think Adidas are responsible for the sponsor logos

just, ya know.... dont buy it if you dont like it? Surely that will show Adidas its the worst ever?

I expect that's what will happen anyway, it may be that kit sales are lower anyway. Only management at the club and at Adidas will ever really know that but you'll also be able to get a feel for the popularity roughly on match days, I think it may be on a par with other shirts that appeared to sell less well in recent years - such as the Weir kit and and the 125 kit.

Oh, it is.

You're reading their away score. Their home got 8/10

Brentford Review:
Sleek stripes that work well with the Adidas stripes on top of the shoulders. The White sleeves work well with the stripes too - a strong outfit.
Rating: 8/10

Blades Review:
If you saw this kit from the front, it would be a typical, unremarkable Sheffield United kit... (except above, they say how well it works on the Brentford one).

Then they go on to say:
The back, though, makes this feel like two different kits sewn together, along with an incredibly tacky logo - it makes it look like the players would be working at Doordeals, rather than playing football. Bizarre choice.
Rating: 1/10

Whilst I agree that it's shit. It's got to be as shit as Brentfords also?

I don't understand why people are taking an article from a random Bristolian shit rag as seriously as they are anyway but as you say, if ours is 1/10 then there's is at least that, if not 0.5/10 because that red back is somehow worse than the white back in my opinion.

Their home isn't bad, I know which I read, the one that means, their shit brown shirt, was voted nicer, than our extremely shit home shirt, which makes it far worse!

How is their home not bad and our home the worst thing in the world ever?
