This is a bamboozling thread.

Wages aside, we'd be in a queue behind half the premiership, most of the championship and probably quite a few foreign teams if we wanted him

Suppose we should look at Ronaldo then.

No, he's off to the Massive.

A mate of Semedo's so it's a done deal. A swanky club apartment in Malin Bridge overlooking the Loxley and as much tuna as he can eat.

They really are a big club and so un-tinpot.

Just read that Palace, Leeds or Hull may go for a loan in January.. Would he be any good at SUFC?

Good at Championship level, but unfortunately paid at PL level. Looks more like an S6 signing, if they weren't totally brassick. Then again, sell a few shirts, sell Forestieri and he might be January target for them, doubt it though.

he went to liverpool for the £££. Did he really think that he'd get into the starting 11 at liverpool? no, and neither did anyone else think that so i think that he's not the type of player we would want even if we could afford his wages

No player in their right mind would stay at Burnley when a club like Liverpool makes an offer.

Getting a pay rise is just part of moving to bigger clubs. Not all footballers are greedy and in it solely for the money.

Fair play to the lad for backing himself in order to try and further his career. If he hadn't had 2 really bad injuries, who knows how things would have worked out.

Chansiri apparently wants £20m for Forestieiri (that's right!), so he isn't going anywhere.

My reaction upon being told. Could be BS of course, but seems plausible with that mad lot!

There will be some on there who would actually think they could get that much, it just adds to the hilarity.

Not that it will happen, but if I was able to I'd offer a derisory figure just because I could, say £11.30p

As for Rhodes, what price do you put on someone who turns around and tells their employer he won't do as he's told? If you pay someone £40-50K per week I'd expect them to jump through hoops on fire. Spineless and pointless is about the best summary I can think of where he's concerned. He's there for a reason, yet won't step forward when it matters? Go figure.

This is a loan that will be geared towards him getting fit again. So I see Liverpool selecting a team that will ensure he plays and therefore they will pay a large % if not all his wages for the duration, thing is I don't think Wilder would ever opt for a deal guaranteeing a player a shirt and for that reason it won't be us.

Yeah I've also seen Wilder saying on an interview that he doesn't like those deals. He also doesn't like having to pay loan fees.

I reckon a fair compromise would be an upfront payment for a loan with the parent club then paying a small fee back per appearance. For example, we pay Spurs 300k for the season for CCV and they pay us back say 30k for every league game he plays. That way it gives us an incentive to actually play him and develop him and if he plays 40 games for us we make a little profit. If he's shit, he can be cover but we've not really lost much. Certainly better than some of the crazy loan fees that are flying around at the minute.

Cloud cuckoo land mate.

No, I repeat NO club loans out players where the receiving club actually profits from the deal.

As if a club is going to make £800k from loaning a player.

Yeah he'd do a job but as mentioned, wages would be wayyy higher than what we'll be paying currently.

That being said, his Mrs is incredible

He cost £6.5million three years ago and is reportedly on £60k a week.

If you're paying, Bill...
