Using what players were worth back then and equating them to what they're currently worth is completely false economics. Southampton would never have gotten close to £85m just as we would never have gotten close to Maguire and Walkers current fees.

Journo's for a start . Vicars or Priests . Next up it just has to be a Radio Sheffield Presenters , not just the sport variety either , all of them . Anyone who is involved in the production or supply of ' pyros ' . Them who use them are ok though as thats not really a profession . Dog groomers . Ladies hair stylists , we'll never shut them up . He'd surely have been better just registering as a proper fan instead being a busy bastard by letting us all know he works for the Sheffield Star as a Blades correspondence? You are comparing market prices then with market prices now, which isn't a fair comparison. The market has gone completely out of control since the latest Sky money has kicked in and following the Neymar transfer. There is no way we could have received the sums that you are talking about then, players were going for max £30m
