Hi all. my very first post on here so be gentle lol.

With regard to Coutts. For me one of the current crop of top performers from this season that has it all to prove next season. Personally
I have never doubted that the lad has plenty of natural ability, even through the dark times he went through last season, where despite many being on his back you could see there was something there on offer. What he perhaps lacks is a bit of dynamic in his game but that lack of wumph doesn't make him a bad player. I can think of many players who have made it big time without a similar type of dynamic. Ray Wilkins, Trevor Brooking, both regarded as top players and if you want to come down a level, Leon Britton at Swansea a good example. I have a feeling Coutts will play a big part next season.

Coutts was only fully fit last season, the previous years he was recovering from what was a career threatening injury.
Coutts recovered and proved his value, unfortunately J. Wallace did not.
The other difference for Coutts is that he had quality players around him who played to his strengths, difficult to play good balls to players like Hammond!

Coutts was played on the right a lot previous season, with brayford. he did not suit that role at all. better how he is used now, coming deep and dictating play out of defence. How much better does he look now, not having to hold Brayfords hand.

If wolves bring some big hitters in, it could be possible. If the rumours of Carruthers being on his way are true, I'd be delighted with Coady to compliment what we have. Think he has played RB at times as well so could maybe provide cover for Freeman int he RWB position. has a similar knack for making well time runs into the box and would bring some height and athleticism.

Coutts is a class act. He's a better player than Connor Coady. He certainly doesn't lack a yard of pace, either. Over 10-20 yards running with the ball at his feet he leaves the opposition trailing. But for his serious injury he wouldn't have spent the last three years in League One.

Anyone who 'doesn't see what he brings to the team' really ought to consider a different pastime.

No question marks at all for me. Only in S2, the land where shadow-chasing ragamuffins reign supreme, would there be doubts about this splendid footballer. Happily, Tufty has no such doubts about his midfield controller and vice-captain. He'll be the heartbeat of our Championship midfield alongside his equally excellent countryman.

I'd love to see us signing Coady. He adds something different and it's going to be a lot more difficult for Fleck and Coutts to control midfield next season.

Coutts and Fleck are an excellent partnership who I expect to continue to flourish next season. IF we still go with 3 at the back next season I'm not sure that we'll have the luxury of a Duffy type player as well as 2 forwards.

Wouldn't be suprised at all if we have a more defensive minded midfielder alongside Coutts and Fleck next season with a no 10 behind a lone striker. Especially away from home. I believe Coady would be a good shout for that defensive holding midfielder.

Seems unlikely, but have good memories of his time on loan and the FA Cup run, would definitely have him back. Offers something more defensively than Coutts or Fleck. Think its probably unrealistic that we'd actually get him though.

Weird, Pete O'Rourke tweeted it and then deleted it again. Surely not though, he captained Wolves at the weekend and they're loaded so have no reason to sell whatsoever.

Stocked up on centre halfs though are Wolves, I wonder if we have leaked this and that it might be us just pressuring Blackburn into deciding once and for all if Lenihan is available this window.

Surprising if true as he's a first team player. He won't be coming here to warm the bench.

He's recently played as captain and Wolves have absolutely no need to sell so think there's more chance of one of us signing than him even if CW would be keen

Agree with the sentiments around being in the Wolves side, but weren't they looking at putting him in as a makeshift centre half, or did I dream that?

Would be a nice midfield with Coady, Fleck and Coutts but I can't see it.

He's perfect for us and Wilder so if there's any chance he's available I'd expect us to be interested.

This would surely mean we're not signing Lenihan, they're similarly solid and versatile even if their primary positions aren't the same.

Can't see it happening at all though, he's in Wolves' first team and they'd want daft money for him because they're loaded.

And then there's the wages. I'd imagine we'd have to pay him 18k+ p/w.

We thought the same when Lundstram was leaked to try and push the Leonard deal on. Would love Coady back, proper player. Just can't see us ever paying the kinda fee it'll take.

This has the potential to top Leonard and morsey threads.
Bring it on.

Que pinchy in 5,4,3,2........
;)

Very good player for us and from what I've read has developed since, still can't believe we didn't put in a realistic bid for him to Liverpool, am I correct in thinking he really really enjoyed it here and so did his family??

Love to see him back, with Fleck & Coutts we'd have a classy and hardworking midfield

Waste of a thread....simply not going to happen....and I think if he was all of a sudden available our porcine neighbours would be all over it

Have ya not heard mate? They're raising funds by flogging Premier League season tickets and mini plaques on seats, the bin bag cover on Leppings Lane ain't gonna pay for itself!

Yes please. Would be a top signing but i imagine we'd have to bid at least 3/4 million before Wolves even consider selling him. He captained them last Saturday and they're loaded so hardly need the money. Unless Wilder really really wants him i can't see us parting with that sort of cash at this moment in time. Love it to happen though and i'd much rather us spend the money on him than Lenihan if it was a choice between the two.
