Doyle and josh Morris whilst we're at it
Doyle and Morris have never been anywhere near as good as what Ched was in 2012.
Also they'd probably cost more and want more money.
The bottom line is Ched could be a great signing but is more likely to be a mediocre signing
But the beauty about the deal is it's weighted in the clubs favour.
If Ched struggles (like he might) then he won't have cost much, so we've not lost much.
We also aren't pinning our hopes on him.
If he does well then it will be a bonus, so logically it's a risk worth taking, a no brainer really.
Personally I think he'll have a season similar to Leon Clarke last season.
1st half he'll show signs of quality, have the odd good game but generally not be quite up to speed, have niggling injuries and be disappointing, however 2nd half I expect him to improve and be half decent, score a few but don't think he'll be anywhere near as good as he was in 2012.
The exciting thing is no one knows what's going to happen.
We have a few players (including Ched) with high potential, they could sink or swim.
