Would you go to Wembley?

Love it!!!!!

Fiery when you starting the fan club? Coun't me in!

I would have liked United to have won this cup, because IMO it would give the club confidence it could win things. At the moment it will take a lot of luck and a bunch of shrinks, quacks and witch doctors to motivate the Blades in a final to win. We haven't managed it against similar league competition for 87 sodding years.

When you are in the Premier League you strive to win all trophies, League, FA Cup, League Cup, Champions League, Europa Cup - in the Pub Leagues you only get realistic chances of League and JPT
I do not understand this 'Distraction of a Cup Run' thing

So when Man U decided not to participate in the FA Cup, the oldest and best cup competition in the world, were they somehow trying to win it? When most of the Prem League teams play kids and reserves in the League Cup are they taking it seriously? Nah sorry mate, the only cup the big boys really care about is the European one that carries big bucks. The makeweight Prem teams only care about preserving their Premier league status so don't kid yourself if you think they don't see cup competitions as a distraction because they do.

OK we're a million miles from being in the upper echelons and we don't have a big squad so again, apologies but for a club in the shit state that we're in then yes, even the shitty paint cup could have affected our run in and I'd much rather us scrape a promotion than forfeit that simply to parade round an empty Wenbley stadium red faced because we're over the moon at winning something that's worth absolutely fuck all.

My point is that any club that gains promotion usually enjoys a good cup run or two because;
a) they are hard to beat, and
b) they have some confidence in the squad to raise their levels against sides above them in the league structure.

We were bloody lucky to get the result vs Vale - despite the pressure in the second half - and we conceded a soft goal. Tuesday night - another clanger and penalties! Well at least we didn't lose, eh?

Don't know what they charge for the final but if we had got 10,000 going I'd be surprised. There does come a point, even for us, when a Wembley win is pointless.

In fact almost as pointless as spending thousands of pounds on a marketing campaign to sell half price STs at prices the club know so few will buy at that they won't even cover their costs.
