Will Slav get some money for the next window?

You’ll be lucky to get anything close to 10 mill for him as it stands that’s another 10 million loss to add on
Berge may already be sold.. And you're Bob on it won't be anywhere near 10m..

And that is the problem with everyone we bought over the last 2 years except for Ramsdale.

Why would he be sacked. If the peroni king was still in charge he would be blaming the tea lady ticket office ladles the burger seller oh and captain blade. We are making progress under Slav because it Wilders shit storm of a team he has to pick from bar 4. Keep the faith and if I'm wrong please call me a barclays banker in May.
Not arguing with anybody.. I just don't do it.. I love the difference of opinion that a forum brings.. And I respect it and everybody's views.

But.

He won't get till May should this shambling hapy go lucky approach shuffle along. PA will change it before then.. PA can't afford it.... He really can't.

He said so..

Prince basically said we’re fucked if we don’t go up! So in a nutshell…..no!

I don’t think there is enough spare money to get rid of him and appoint a new manager.

Great comment, but that's not our problem.. PA needs us to go up in 2 seasons...

The strategy for the club is defined already, he's spent on the revenue just like KMC did with warnock.. Dice rolled..

Slav don't perform, slav gone..

It's a serious bussiness..

The only way Slav gets any money is by sales (good luck with that one) we are back to where we were with Adkins a well paid bloated squad who we can't move on until contracts run down. To me it is all about just staying in this division this season and next then we might be able to rebuild, by this time though I don't expect Jokanovic to be here. I'm thinking his appointment suited both parties he gets back to managing in England and we get a fall guy he wasn't our #1 target to replace Wilder that guy is in Ostend.

Altogether now, "MONEY"

How's that Slav's fault? Tezza said Slav isn't up to it, I guess a more accurate statement given current form is, Slav's not got the funding so he's unable to compete for promotion. We don't know whether he's been promised funds or not, either way, he was happy to sign. If we splash the cash and we still fail to get back this or next season, then I'd say maybe he isn't up to it.

But we can't write him off in December with just loans as his signings. 95% of that team are CW's and they're shite, to put it nicely.

The money has be there but we've fallen into the trap of bringing in expensive loans as stop gaps and it ll continue in January I'm afraid. Don't get it, we should be picking up the better players out of Championship and League 1. I sense arrogance in our recruitment policy (if we have one) and that only players from higher level clubs are good enough to get us back up.
For me we need a dominant CB, a central midfielder who can get around the pitch and help the back 4, along with a left winger.

People keep saying this but if we didn't have MGW I shudder to think where we would be. Where they are from is irrelevant. It's how good they are.

Hourihane I was optimistic about but I fear the Swansea fans were right.

Davies is not good enough to keep the goals down.

Olsen has made errors though I feel for him as no one in the back 4 or midfield seems to be able to close players down so it's like a shooting gallery. Shades of 07-08 again.

No issue with MGW type loan. He's young and has has something to prove. Hourihane wasn't what we needed and anyone that watches us would say that. Olsen clearly only came as he had no other option and Davies gives me the impression he's coasting and just happy to do enough without getting injured. Wouldn't surprise me if those 4 cost over £10m with wages and loans fees over the course of the season.

Wilder (sorry) gave them 4 games and said, let's try my way, and low n behold, off we went..

Wilder had also had the chance to build virtually the entire squad that summer. IIRC there were only about 4 senior pro's left when CW had released the rest of them so he was to but players for the way he wanted to play.

What's our starting line up?

Not sure where that's coming from. Pretty obvious what formation and lineup we'll start with dependent on injuries/suspensions.

It isn't. He asked what he hasn't got which he had at Watford and Fulham. I said he hasn't got money ie not his fault. Well interpreted though.

I think whoever the manager, they need at least another 2 transfer windows to get rid of the shit they've been left with, and to shape a squad into how they want it to perform. I hope there is some money for Slav in January but would be happy to save it if need be and give him more in the summer. I can't seriously believe anyone thought anybody could get this squad to perform and to create a promotion push after what happened last year.

What a load of crap. Can I call you one now please?

Wilderites want Slav to fail.
Wilder8erz want Slav to succeed.

Meanwhile, Sheffield United fans want whatever is best for the club. This latter minority group goes somewhat under represented during these exchanges.
I’m still a wilderite… but hes gone, won’t be back whilst Prince is in charge, but I want Slav to succeed

Reality is that the Prince won’t back Slav how he wants, he will end up with expensive loans at the end of jan.

We need to get 4-5 in at the start of jan but it won’t happen.

I reckon we’ll also send a few out on loan or get rid, which will make the squad even smaller

I'm all for us getting rid of whoever we can in January, whether we actually manage to is another thing. I'm sure Slav can't wait to offload some shite too. This is all on the basis we bring in to fill the gaps..

Prince basically said we’re fucked if we don’t go up! So in a nutshell…..no!

Agree…he’s gone to the realistic limit each year.
Where as Norwich have always massively under spent….so now they have plenty of breathing space to gamble.

To be honest most fans would choose the more ambitious Sheff Utd spending model.
The problem is we identified Ollie McBurnie and Brewster as rising stars capable of being PL regulars.
The weird thing is their confidence must be shot….because amazingly both don’t even look up to Championship standard.

Wouldn’t surprise me that during the last few months of their contract they both start hitting top form….just in time to negotiate a new contract.

Why Fulham and WBrom have

And if he does, who would you like to see realistically brought in to strengthen the squad?
I’m not sure but I can’t see anyone displacing Ben Osborn playing left wing.

In his last interview, the Prince talked about another investor being brought in. Now, unless he was talking bullshit in order to shut down a line of questioning, I would hope this expected investment will be used to improve our first team. Then again it could be earmarked to bring another club into 'United World'.

Sheffield's a toilet, as small cities go.

As one of the Country's former major cities, it's a fucking disgrace

Look I'm a fucking huge clapper.. I wanted adkins to get another season..

Maybe it's me.

But I've got to say. I've seen no improvement, nothing. Really sorry but I just haven't, been home and a away all season.. Its pot luck..

With a top draw manager, we would have a plan now, today we're no better off than day one..

Prince will sack this guy before Jan.. I'm seeing nothing from him.. Fuck all.

Edit: we were scared shitless about Paul heckingbottom getting the job because we thought it was a step backwards... Would you think it now.
If we can't afford 1 permanent signing we can't afford to pay Jokanovic off so you had better get used to him

If you were the owner would you give him any after the last five big money loans? I'd be more than a little reluctant.

Not a dig at Wilder but a comment on the logic. Would an owner be reluctant to provide more funds to someone whose £100m spend had produced very little worthwhile?

I’d guess the actual transfer value of those players is less than their amortised value in the accounts, suggesting a big big paper loss in future

This must be true of Brewster, and possibly Berge.

Mousset is now worth zero in amortisation terms.

McBurnie? Tough one.

2024 Reuters ‘ The takeover of Newcastle United has been seen as a huge success and both captured the imagination and sparked the interest of the Saudi people. This in turn, has lead to further large investments at the only other Saudi owned UK based football club, Sheffield United, who currently sit 3rd in the Premier League after ten games’

YHIHF 😉
