Wilder. You need to apologise to the fans for tonight.

A post more embarrassing than the display. How is this possible?

True...but Knowsnowt is one of my favourite posters...excellent comedy value....this forum would be more boring without his presence.
Also I love Chevvy Chase and keep thinking his avatar is Chevvy Chase is an Arab head gear.

Regards the title of this thread.

I don't think it's likely to happen because there are no Blades making sacrifices paying out hard earned money attending matches.
It's a really surreal experience....neither the manager or the players will be witnessing much discontent or even abuse from the fans.

Finally you get it. He's totally out of his depth
I’m not defending Wilder but I will still call shit like this out. Nobody has the tools to keep us in the premier league as it stands stop talking bollocks. Call the manager out for tonight’s team selection etc but no other manager could have taken this group of players and kept them up.

Never said that but other managers would do a lot better

We have father time sandwiched between dumb and dumber at the back for the rest of the season then probably

Wilder demands a certain work ethic and honesty from his players. If he doesn't apologise for that shite tonight then he's a total hypocrite and deserves nothing.

I'd like to see them apologise first. Footballers might not be very bright but they're not automatons either. You choose your attitude and your display, and I've no time for arguments about 'lacking confidence'. I'd happily see each and every one of them walk out the door before Wilder.

And yours was ? You must be chuffed you see things so clearly?

Let me get this right for you and all the others on here talking shit tonight, Wilder knows more than you will ever know about football. Do you accept that?

Carry on firing the criticism, tonight we were pretty wank, but dont overste the mark, because - see point #1

Maybe. But Wilder is all too ready to call out individual mistakes, and tonight he made one. But will he call himself out? It seems not..
The mark of a real leader is someone who takes it on the chin when they fuck up, someone who can stick a hand up and say sorry I fucked up. Someone who has enough respect for the self and the team. they lead.

When tonight's team was announced the players will have thought the same as us fans, ie "WTF"? ".

I don’t get where people think he’s going to get us back promoted with that team? We set up to lose every single game. He’s not the right man for next season? How is he?

I don’t get why you think we’ll be going into next season with that team.

I agree on that but i'm not recognising the man of previous seasons which worries me.

True...the down turn is weird and alarming.

However to be honest with covid it's been a weird season for everyone.
Chris hasn't even had a proper pre-season to prepare properly.
Appreciate other teams in the PL haven't had time to prepare but all things being equal the higher quality squads will do better.

OK, so if Wilder sets out a plan to sit back and the players don't follow it, they'll be benched.
The players weren't the problem. tonight.. Wilder was.

I’ll always defend Wilder to the hilt. But tonight he led his meek and cowardly players out of that same back door, he said his Sheffield United team would never take.
I will still defend him to hilt, but if I woke up tomorrow and he was gone.....I done think I’d be as gutted as I thought I’d be.

Like who? How many’s of these great managers you know about would take a team from league 1 to the premier league with pretty much the same team. There isn’t one not one single manager and certainly not one we could get.
how many managers did we have who couldn’t get us out of league one never mind get us to the top league.
Comments like this are fucking stupid but I expect nothing less from someone who only started posting in the last few months.

What baffles me is we go to Old Trafford and have a right go, and dare I say even looked good in possession at times.
What the hell was that all about at Fulham?
Fulham were shocking tonight even if they had one or two players better on the ball than ours, Lookman for example!
Nonetheless they are a team that is definitely going down with us yet we turn up at their place and show them the respect as if we were playing the Spanish national team or somert!
Wilder got it massively wrong tonight, why play Sharp who’s a goal poacher around the six yard box in a team that went to deliberately allow Fulham total possession????
He should have gone with our clever players and gone toe to toe with a very average, sorry shite Fulham team!
The thinking on this one by our very able manager falls embarrassingly short tonight.

Same mate. I don't think they come any clapper than me, and if I'm losing confidence in him it's pretty much end of the road I'd say.

Agree...dont think the players are anything special....by PL standards.
but Wilder has form....he's proven that with a proper pre-season to prepare.
He can make average players so well drilled...that they play to their strengths and seem better than what they are.

Also we have players who are proven top performers at Championship level....McBurnie, Brewster, Norwood, O'Connell etc

In fact our transfer policy has been to target the best players from the Championship hoping they can make the step up.

So as daft as it sounds.....our players aren't foreign PL rejects who will struggle to adapt in the Championship.
Our players are Championship top performers who struggled to make the step up.

Think confidence will play a big part.
Hopefully we can copy Norwich. if we get off to a good start we should be in and around the play-offs all season.
Suppose it depends who we sell and whether we get off to a good start.

What's that got to do with anything

You know he won't do that don't you. He will point to injuries (fair enough) and say we are lacking quality in both boxes (like he does every week) and then he will say the system is not the problem (like he does every week).

We need to see something fresh from him.

I keep saying this on other threads, so I apologise for the repetition, but he simply cannot admit the system is at any fault.

He received the fulsome praise of Bielsa and Guardiola for it. The admiration of a galaxy of European football technocrats.

This is the football equivalent of a scientist winning the nobel prize for physics and then finding out he can no longer replicate the results. However....

I can't watch his reaction tonight.. I'll probably pop a vein.

He blamed VAR for not giving us a pen and wasted chances to get back in the game.

Why are we always trying to get back in the game? Can we not try and set out to get in the lead and manage the game like last season?

As said earlier, this guy is not the Wilder that gained 100% respect for ballsy football that we have seen since he came to the club.

might be way off but im not sure the players are busting a gut for him and thats worrying but i would also like him to stand up and take the blame instead of blaming the players all the time and sorry chris but the majority of united fans know the system isnt working so why be so stubborn and persevere with it

There is something in that, you can see it.

And disappeared when we won a few!
