Don't beleave we need to spend that much on strikers and I think Wilder wouldn't also.Clarke is 33 and Madine is 27. Clarke has spent his whole career up until this point being frustrating & inconsistent. Madine has potential. Cardiff bought Madine on the back of his performances during the 1st half of the season. My opinion of Madine is that if he put his mind to it, he would be a decent quality 'old style' centre forward. He has many positive attributes, but he also has many negative ones. Premier league quality? Probably not, but certainly good enough for the championship. Can he put his mind to it? That's debatable. Is he worth £6m? Probably not, but let's not confuse 'worth' and 'value'. His value is what he was sold for. Just as Jordan Hugill's is £10m, Vydra's £8m, Grabban's £9m and Assombalonga's £17m. That is the market value of forwards at this level, and having heard of the sums being offered and turned down for League 1 strikers in January, then £4m - £6m is their value range. We can sit around and talk about whether player x or player y is worth the money, but the simple fact is that is what they cost and if we want to replace our front five partially or totally with established, competent sub 30 yr old forwards that is their cost.
The one that had to fund it.Wilder was quoted as saying the JTW budget was set back in October.
We were top at the time.
What short-sighted bastard decided that we’d spend fuck all instead of trying to actually make a concerted effort to maintain our position? Or, look towards next season and tell Wilder to get them in now ready for next season if we don’t do it this season?
Fuckin criminal it is.
The one that had to fund it.
Maybe you should have helped out with a few million quid of your own hard earned cash?
Not if the player doesn't fulfill the said operational objectivesThe worth of a player is their value to their Club or a prospective Club for their individual operational objectives.![]()

Can't wait to see who that might be if penny pincher Kev is still gripping the purse strings.
I would like a 12" cock too but I've been advised having 2" removed would be a risky operationI'd love a 12" cock & a new Ferrari, we've got about the same hope of getting either. Bob & no.
Whatever it takes...And if it's not Kev in charge of the purse strings then I'd wager it won't be Wilder who is spending them pennies
Yep. It’s all the academies fault....Academy running costs will be about the same.![]()
Wilder meks me cum buckets. Love the man.
I think you mean a realist, as opposed to a fantasist who thinks that Kevin McCabe owes him some happiness as he happens to own some shares in a football club.
I think you should try getting a life and making something good happen for yourself, instead of blaming others for not fulfilling your emotional needs.
Care to elaborate on that, you've lost me.And don’t give me no stuff about ‘paying the bills’. That’s another aspect.
You get to see a game of football and you drink your bovril and eat your pie.I pay for tickets and merchandise and get nothing back of value.
That’s £5m a year. A lot to me and you. But as a percentage of his overall wealth, relatively nothing.
That's very big of you and I'm sure he will be pleased to hear it is 'nothing' to him.
BTW, how much research did you do?
"In 50th position are Kevin McCabe and family with an estimated fortune of £97m.
The 50 per cent owner of League One side Sheffield United trained as a quantity surveyor before setting up his first property business in his late 20s. He made his fortune from selling his Scarborough property operation to an Australian group in 2007.
McCabe's proceeds from the original sale should have been the £142.7m paid out to his family and trusts in a special dividend in 2007/08. His new company also called Scarborough Group, showed £21.7m net assets in 2014-15. With hefty spending on Sheffield United FC, we value the McCabe family at £97m after tax."

I make that he has put about 50% of his wealth into SUFC. Maybe you can begin to understand why he hasn't thrown the cash around and has had to look for a partner?

£90m he’s put in over the last 18 years (if we agree he’s been on the board since 1999).

And if you think for one second that he is actually £90m out of pocket then you’re kidding yourself. If he was £90m out of pocket do you think he’d carry on? I’m out of pocket regards United. I can’t take control of a hotel at my say so when it turns a profit....
