Why didn't Selles think of that???He doesn't know how to coach a team and wants to get to January so he can sign a target man and play direct to keep us up.
It also should be added that many of the players signed later in the window, have been linked with Wilder previously. Hardly a coincedence (also as was mentioned on here, Wilder has in fact mentioned in his interviews that we made some good signings at the end of the window). At risk of repetition over several posts the squad was not "ruined". Of the players who were actually contracted to us the only ones of value who actually left were Ahmedhodzic and Sousa - it was always likely they would go and it was certain they would be diffcult (ie almost impossible) to adequately replace.
This is a different matter from the ludicrous scooping up of what was around that actually took place, but apart from Bindon and Barry surely nobody can believe it would have been any different either under the current/previous manager or anybody else?
We didn't exactly have a successful winter transfer market did we? And the one good player that was temporarily brought in was under-used for reasons that are still not fully evident.
That said, I'm not in favour of making any further managerial changes. Let it play out and see what happens. As run-of-the-mill as this lot are, with the occasional good player popping up here and there, and even with our identikit tactics which are inevitably thrown up into the air to see where they land after 70 minutes, there is still more than enough to survive comfortably.
If not, then after 41 games it will put this sort of discussion to bed for ever.
Which is not only ridiculous, it's also complete bollocks. Seriki was dropped for Godfrey as soon as the latter signed.TBF he did say in previous interviews that Seriki was ever present in a losing side and that's why he was dropped.
Well it might keep us up but it’s evident of Wilder or perhaps Knill’s regression. There’s far too many games in between now and January where we actually need to pick up points. Why didn't Selles think of that???
It's a brilliant idea.....FFS
HeckyName someone better for SUFC now?
Any manager who can get his squad fit, doesn't talk in Sunday league 70's clichés and acknowledges the support, both win or loseName someone better for SUFC now?
Can you point us in the direction of such comments regarding selles cos it sounds extremely far fetched.I have heard it all now selles better than Wilder, according to some people on this forum. Must be wendyites who have nowt better to do.If Chris Wilder hadn't been sacked, would we have had a bad start to the season? Would he have bought the same players in?. I don't think so on both questions.selles was bought in without an interview.T owners realised they made a bad mistake and got Wilder back. The players bought are not good enough. Wilder has his faults, but He is not to blame for the position we are in. I am sure we will recover; however, we probably won't get into the playoffs.
I just assumed it was more adding to wilders lists of hates:Are the Wilder hating mugs available in the club shop?
Barry has been underwhelming. Ogbene last night …. deary meDifficult to make a difference with some of that squad. Bindon, Ogbene, Barry etc are unfortunately not good enough and need to be replaced in January. As for McGuiness and some of the other permanents
Rubbish !! he's been a dealt a poor hand with the summer recruitment and the Sellers debacle, he can only work with what he's got. I'll bet that in January we'll sign a brute of a central defender and a mobile forward and that will be for startersWilder clearly is not the manager he was in 2016. Some can see it, some don’t want to see it but his tactics, decisions, results and performances don’t lie.
And then play them in completely the wrong place.Rubbish !! he's been a dealt a poor hand with the summer recruitment and the Sellers debacle, he can only work with what he's got. I'll bet that in January we'll sign a brute of a central defender and a mobile forward and that will be for starters
If we play on the front foot as the first half yes sit back like we did at the beginning of the second noWe play like we did against Coventry we’ll start picking up some wins.

He is not contracted beyond the summer. Why on earth, outside of loan shake ups, would you want the JTW to be used to give Wilder "the squad he wants" when the interests of Wilder are completely different to the long term interests of the club? Give him the slightest say and he'll end up bringing journeymen in who have maybe six months left in the tank on three year contracts, maybe see us scrape 21st, then be "saved us lads bye" and leave someone else to clean up the mess.I'm not for sacking him. I don't see the point. I think he will keep us up, especially if given the JTW to get something a bit closer to the squad he wants

big fan of chris first time round but i think the correct decision was made in the summer just the wrong appointnent i would have gone for carrick and still would if wilder is sacked againWilder clearly is not the manager he was in 2016. Some can see it, some don’t want to see it but his tactics, decisions, results and performances don’t lie.
Yeah I don't think we're too far apart on philosophy reallyBecause the immediate issue is survival. I probably agree 100 percent with your views on where we should be going long term but I don't think we can afford to worry about that now. I would not be handing Wilder a black cheque book to make permanent signings in January but I would give him his choice of loans or cheap short-term deals if it gives us a better chance of staying up.
What's the alternative? Sack him and let someone else give it a shot? I don't think we can afford the disruption.
Having said that, ask me again if we lose the next two and I might have changed my mind.
It will be quantity again mate in the January window. Nobody whats got any ambition ain't going to join a club what looks like going down.Rubbish !! he's been a dealt a poor hand with the summer recruitment and the Sellers debacle, he can only work with what he's got. I'll bet that in January we'll sign a brute of a central defender and a mobile forward and that will be for starters
The manager doesn’t get behind the team.FFS, give it a rest and get behind the manager and team.
But it was selles fault when we were losing with these players?Rubbish !! he's been a dealt a poor hand with the summer recruitment and the Sellers debacle, he can only work with what he's got. A mobile forward - we currently have 3 forwards and wilder brought em all.And then play them in completely the wrong place.
Please provide evidence that Selles wasn't interviewedI have heard it all now selles better than Wilder, according to some people on this forum. Would be great if Hecky screwed Wilder overHecky
Genuine question. Do you think last seasons version of CW was the same as the 2016-2019 version??
