What a nonsense post. Wilder has been rightly criticised for awful tactics and poor signings of old journeymen. We all welcome the win but even today a half decent side easily puts us away by 4 or 5.

You call my post nonsense, and yet there is a huge number of posts on this thread and this forum proving my point, including your own:
"We all welcome the win but..."

Will you still appreciate him if we get relegated or will that be someone else's fault and not on him at all?

Yes, I will still appreciate him. I will appreciate everything good that he's done for this club over the many, many years he's had a professional association with us. I will also continue to understand that he's human and that, as such, he isn't perfect; he has flaws and makes mistakes just like everyone else.

I often see, on here, the accusation that those of us still supporting Wilder are blind to his faults, that we're in a cult, and that he can do no wrong with us. That's nonsense. I know he has faults. The difference is that I don't and won't hold the fact that he's human, and has faults and imperfections, against him.

I hope that we won't get relegated, but if we do, I will understand and appreciate that he will have done his absolute level best to avoid that outcome, and I won't allow one relegation working under extremely difficult circumstances, to tarnish my memories of the good times I've enjoyed under his stewardship, or to tarnish my appreciation for him and what he's achieved for this club, both as manager and player.

Others have seemingly already allowed the fact that he's not perfect, that he couldn't pull off keeping us in the top flight playing innovative, exciting football forever, to tarnish their feelings for him, and their memories of the good times with him. I find that sad. Life is difficult and stressful enough, without allowing the fact that magical moments don't last forever, to spoil your enjoyment and appreciation of those magical moments.

I will continue to look for the good. I will continue to look at my avatar and see one of my all-time favourite managers holding up the shirt of one of my all-time favourite players and know that there is beauty in that picture. There is the beauty of a man having such respect, such appreciation, and such love, for a player sadly lost, that he carries that player's shirt around with him to every match, and holds it high. And the beauty of knowing that, while that player's life was cut cruelly short, within that life, however short, there was joy, success, celebration and happiness, in part because of his time spent with us enjoying the achievements and success that were brought about, in part, because of his relationship with the man holding his shirt.

So, yes, I will continue to appreciate Chris Wilder. I won't allow the fact that he's not perfect and can't keep the best times going forever because he's human, to spoil everything good, everything positive, and everything joyous, that he's brought to my club, my memories, and my life.

Yeah I agree entirely. I don't think we'll get relegated. It was just a hypothetical reply to someone else's post saying how much the vast majority of fans appreciate Wilder.
The poll at the top does lie. He does have the appreciation and support of the vast majority of us despite what some will say. We are poor at the minute but when your trying to find a system that suits us when he’s lost his best 3 players and we currently don’t have a number 10 then it’s points on the board that matter first and foremost.

I was planning on being but then my black outfit and face covering didn't get delivered on time so thought I'd stay home and watch the Blades game instead 👍

Can't believe you don't have a black outfit. I have several. Black goes with everything. It’s essential for gigs, funerals, protests, spontanious mime performances etc

He had 41 games last season to fashion a team and style of play. Then he comes out and says this season will be different, what is different? Again we have sold our best players, again we scramble around on the last day of the window looking for players (only free's or loans mind) despite wanting Souter for £10m for weeks (glad we are skint).
What players we have managed to get Donovan apart are old, unfit, on big wages that have no resale value and are generally crap and past it having played very little real football for months. People then wonder why the club is hemorrhaging money that could be spent on picking up young players that could be developed to contribute to the team and if necessary sold for a profit. Who do we sell in the next window to balance the books?

I don't think this needs to become a pro and anti Chris Wilder thing. Some of us think that Chris is currently the right man for the club while acknowledging that somewhere down the line we need to change (structure and Manager) if we are going to move forward. Others think we need to change now and that is fair enough. A minority think that because of what he he has done previously he is immune from any criticism. That does not mean whatever side you are on we shouldn't be questioning some of his decisions. It is clear to most supporters that the points we have accumulated this season are in spite of the performances which have ranged from mediocre to poor. We are selling our better players (not Wilders fault) and not replacing or bringing in inferior ones (partly Wilders fault). Despite that the squad should be capable of comfortable mid table with an outside chance of play offs (points deduction aside) but current performances suggest more bottom half potential relegation battle. Chris has to address that and I don't not buy what about all he has top contend with. Look at the other night and compare our starting eleven and options off the bench to what Blackburn had available. A lot of our squad gets into more than half of Championship teams sides. It is up to Chris to get the best out of what we have got and he has not found a way to do this yet despite what the results may suggest.

Can be no complaints with the effort there against a team with far more financial clout.

Anyone complaining is purely being churlish after that.
Call me churlish if you want to but I'm fucking fuming. Being the plucky little losers and being happy that we just played well isn't for me. Unfortunately, it's the attitude that runs through the club at the moment, especially through a lot of the supporters. Give me a Bolton style win any day, over a loss where we competed well.

Lack of quality undone us.

Can’t fault the effort.

Wilder set us up well to be fair to him. Nullified Wolves which is a tough ask.

Only criticism is Rothwell on instead of Donovan for the last 15mins. Donovan could’ve stretched a tired Wolves. Rothwell deepened us and invited pressure.

100% Donovan should’ve come on. Also, there is no way Arblaster should be playing in a front three.

We won't get relegated. Already 9 points better than last season and we finished mid table with CW coming in.
How many times do people just ignore strength of schedule (both this season and last)? We have the most unbelievably soft start to the season. Point that out all you like, go and look at how soft it has been and how soft it will continue to be for the next couple of months. Then come back to us after we've had that run of fixtures between Southampton and the second Burnley game and be fucking thankful we have the points we already do in the bank, as we're getting very little out of that run

We should be worried then. A top wolves side just managed to beat us near the end, I expected a thrashing today.

I thought we played well today but 0 points all that matters I suppose.

I’ll give him credit for setting us up with a 5 at the back, but the subs for me didn’t work in those last 10/15 mins. Got to have an outlet, can’t allow pressure to build and then have an excuse of “look at their bench”.

Meh.

We lost against a team that is fully expected to finish in the top six.

We're a bang average Championship outfit that will roughly win, lose and draw an equal amount of games over the full campaign.

Forget about it and move onto the next one.

This is how it's going to be all season.

Nailed it pal, no winning mentality, Rothwell on when Donovan is sat on the bench come on Wilder show some bollocks.

You know what that game reminded me of was the return derby after bouncing day when the pigs came and got a 0-0 victory. Only today we were the ones packing our own half and only having a few tentative attacks mainly from free kicks. We conceded 16 shots today and never even managed to force a corner all afternoon.

We played so much better than we have been. Yes I'd prefer we played rubbish and won but why all the negative stuff. We're a mid to low championship side after the transfer window and for the first time this season I could see real improvement. Sorry if this thread is only for the anti-Wilderd but really think a bit of honest reflection shouldn'the beyond anyone. Still think he’s not the way forward but I'm not going
To knock him for today.

At the time we brought on Rothwell, we already had Ayew, Cannon and Bamford up top.

You can’t be suggesting we bright on Donovan and played just 1 in midfield, surely?

The Donovan sub was to not bother with Cannon or Ayew.

Ayew flashes one across goal. More accurate and we’re 1-0 up. Less lace and Cannon has a tap in. Cannon seems to lose his bearings on one and put across goal when he should have shot. Also challenged for one where we got a corner where Bamford had the initial deflection .

There was a stat from 64 mins when Wilder made the subs that we were literally all over them. We just didn’t capitalise.

That’s football, but none of the subs were passengers.

Do you have some special TV that only shows the negative bits coz if you do, must have been a short show today.

See this is the attitude that runs through a lot of fans that Blade In Flame posted about to many happy to be plucky little Sheffield United, always happy with second best and scared to even have a go in the last 10 mins. We didn't even force a corner today.

On the plus side, at least that didn't give Wolves the chance to create a dangerous counter attack!

That's your opinion which is fine.I completely disagree and just pointing out we are not currently arsenal, man city etc so to expect similar is naive. Just because blades can be realistic doesn't mean they don't have aspirations for our team.

And I think a lot of people's aspirations would be that we at least try to win, rather than try not to lose (and then lose anyway)
