What a nonsense post. Wilder has been rightly criticised for awful tactics and poor signings of old journeymen. We all welcome the win but even today a half decent side easily puts us away by 4 or 5.

A wins a win, we’ll all take it, but no one can say that was even close to a cohesive or well managed performance.

It’s obvious now our tactics are a blend of everyone behind the ball hoping for a break and passing it to someone with a bit of skill (Donovan) and hoping like he’ll he can move it forward.

We scraped passed Bolton and Blackburn, we’re too defensive but had no attack vs Cardiff, Swansea and Birmingham, and were truly found out by Norwich.

Like many have said on the countless threads, a team that has a plan and can finish will have no trouble beating us until there’s some form of plan.

At one point last night we were on a flat 5-4-1 formation. Second half first 20 we had around 10% possession. We scored our only chances. If one of both of those don’t go in we’re looking shambolic again, against a team that are racked with injuries and look set to be comfortably bottom half.

The overall signings and sales are on the board, the setup, tactics and formation are on Wilder, and so far there’s been nothing to convince me personally that there’s any tactical nous or awareness of how to set up and progress the ball forward.

I didn't watch last night, but credit where it's due, we've somehow come away with 3 points. I think I'm now comfortable with the fact that performance wise, this season ain't going to be one for the purists and it's going to be up and down much like the opening 6 games. Long term, I still want a fresh approach to coaching and recruitment and hope this season will be one of battening down the hatches finance wise and that some money is being invested behind the scenes and around the academy etc.
