Wilder on Ched

Also it's very early in the off season.
I would imagine O'Sheas agent will be wanting to keep his options open and not rush a decision.
 



Wilder says 'ultimately'.
The re-signing has been in motion ever since Evans was sent down and it's not as if Wilder suddenly thought, out of the blue, let's sign Ched Evans and it wasn't already on the cards.
The sad thing is you can already see that next season the focus is going to be on a player who's had nothing to do with our recent success.
Signing another, different player with a genuine quality reputation would help.

Think it would be best if Wilder made the decisions.

Wilder is a pro, when given the chance to bring in a player that has the potential to be the best striker at the club then of course he's going to be interested. But of course Ched will now need to prove himself.

The only issue for Wilder is he doesn't want to bring in anyone with a poor attitude or someone that could damage the great team spirit within the club. Wilder will had spoke to people within the game that know Cheds character, he'll have spoken to former team mate, Sharp and especially O'Shea and our management team have then decided he's worth the risk. No surprises really.

Yeah mate but common sense like that doesn't give leverage to those who like to go on about the Ched haters.

You should know by now it's all black and white with Ched, and little room for the sensible middle ground.

It says his 'decision' not 'choice'. And I think that is the nub of it. Someone else's suggestion and choice of player, Wilder saying yes or no. Not a particular issue as long as Wilder stays in charge of all football decisions.

I took the view that when the court decided he was a rapist, based of course on hearing ALL the evidence available at the time rather than simple forum opinion, and therefore was more than happy when another court deemed him not to be. That's a reasonably sensible take on it as far as I'm concerned. I am however confused by those who don't want him back because they believe it's a McCabe move. So it's unclear whether it's about him or Evans.

People who I feel would call themselves "liberal minded" do seem to raise the most objections about a man found not guilty being able to earn a living though.
 



Can someone explain what the Koeman reference was about please. What did I miss?

There's certainly a few like that but there seems to be even more who go on about the 'Ched haters'.

A blind man on a flying horse knows this has been going on for ages and isn't a sudden Wilder move. But as long he's happy with it and it's on sensible financial terms as it appears to be, all good surely.

He still seems to be a cause of division though for people on both ends of the spectrum though.
 
Brief summary of Wilder's other comments on Ched:
  • Ultimately my decision
  • I see a hungry, determined footballer who wants to do well
  • He has unfinished business
  • I'd walk out if I had players pushed on me
  • It represents value for money for us, it's a good deal for us
  • There's been a lot of nonsense about numbers
  • I've spoke to Ched for quite a long time
  • He's passed a stringent medical
  • We're fully confident with the work we'll do with him in pre season
  • He'll bolster us
  • I wasn't the only manager after him
 
Some don't want Ched back at all, I can understand that given all the shit.

Most seem to be in the 'If Wilder's cool with it, let's roll' ( me included)

Some are Chedette's and will probably be booking a hotel room right now.

*one is a rather bizarre fantasist who thinks everyone's reasoning on any issue is based on their 'hatred' of McCabe.
 
That has to end the 'meltdown' now surely.

1. It was his his signing and his alone, if it was a deal forced/pressured on him he would have resigned
2. Ched has passed a medical record and he's happy with his fitness
3. The fees bandied around in the press are no-where near what the deal is actually worth, indeed he says it was very good value for money
4. There were other teams interested in signing him
5. Ched's attitude seems to be spot on and Wilder met him in person

Who's suggested that Chris was "forced" to sign Evans? Not me, that's for sure.

Tbh, I'm not inclined to make a big issue about it. The deal's done. It's a one-off.

In relation to Jay O`Shea signing,similar to the Ross Barkley/Everton we need to know situation,thats my take on it
 
"Another Angry Voice" has an opinion on Evans/McCabe now?

Let's hope he's more clued up than he is on economics.
