It's not just that. There are fans who will still say it's McCabes doing and will be waiting for Evans to fail so they can reiterate that point irrespective of anything Wilder says.
Got ya.
There's no pleasing these people though.
My mate swears blind that McCabe has also being paying Cheds wage anyway while he's been at Chesterfield.

All I'm saying is, he was cheap, and it's now official that it was down to Wilder.
Let's just wait and see...
And obviously completely judge this whole fiasco after 10min of the game at Scarborough :D

Just reading Twitter, it seems O'Shea is in 2 minds about the contract. Wilder said "we won't be waiting about, if he doesn't sign we shake hands and move on"
weird that given that a few months ago he was talking about how he wanted to earn a contract and play here

I reckon the offer isn't what he was hoping for. IF that is right then I reckon Wilder has played it clever, offered him equal/less wages, he knows O'Shea won't get a chance at a club like ours or Championship football if he rejects it.

I'm guessing he just wants to play, And not getting any guarantees from CW. As it should be.

You'd think he'd at least talk to Knill and Mitchell about Ched... ;)

(only joking pedants!)

Exactly what I expected. McCabes not stupid to bring in a player that's not wanted by the manager.

I still believe it's McCabes signing but Wilder was given the final say on it. Also there's no way Wilder would be pressured into accepting the signing.

Wilder is a pro, when given the chance to bring in a player that has the potential to be the best striker at the club then of course he's going to be interested. But of course Ched will now need to prove himself.

The only issue for Wilder is he doesn't want to bring in anyone with a poor attitude or someone that could damage the great team spirit within the club. Wilder will had spoke to people within the game that know Cheds character, he'll have spoken to former team mate, Sharp and especially O'Shea and our management team have then decided he's worth the risk. No surprises really.

Suspect O'Shea is looking at the current midfield and knowledge of potential other signings coming in and is thinking he may be 5th or 6th choice if he stays here.
