Agree that’s one of our negative points, was the same last season too, we don’t score enough from all the danger we create.

Keep thinking if we had someone like Brian Deane up front we’d win this league with another 100 points tally.
I don't think there's anything wrong with our strikers. Our balls into them aren't always good enough. It's not a criticism, it's something I think the coaches will be working on as it's an area for improvement.

Great interview for a few reasons.

Correct in his assessment of our performance imho but also savvy enough to use it as a way of keeping feet on the ground.

Maybe a bit harsh but he's not far off.

First 20 minutes was just frenetic and we went long, often losing possession but in areas where Leeds couldn't hurt us.

Then we started to play our game more but we were wasteful in the final third and didn't create anywhere near enough clear chances given the possession we had in dangerous areas. Then we got caught by a sucker punch and went in at 1-1 when we should have more or less closed the game out.

Second half first twenty was a proper rearguard action with Leeds all over us. Very resolute defending. If you saw what they did to Bristol City you could see what they were trying to do to us but we weren't having it. But we gave the ball away a bit too much which created more problems for us.

As the game progressed and we'd weathered the storm legs began to tire on both sides and the game became more open and more suited to our usual style. We started to boss them again and went on to break their hearts.

I've definitely seen us play better than that. But a lot was to do with the opposition being half successful in stopping us from playing. They sat on Coutts and Fleck a lot of the time, making it congested and stopping the pair from getting their passing game going. But that gave Duffy more space to work in. That's why we're hard to set up against, because you stop one 'key' player, or even two, and another couple step up instead, as Clarke and Duffy did.

We were perhaps 'fortunate' to get all three points but on the balance of play, we probably deserved it; all our players were up for it, some of theirs weren't, we had more chances and made their keeper work harder than ours and we had quality to bring off the bench.

All round, given it was a tough away game, a good performance but not the best football we've played by a long way.

I can agree with your assessment, but not the Pig I have replied to

Leeds did sit on Fleck and Coutts for a period in 2ND half but never controlled Duffy and Clarke they couldn't maintain the effort and we got stronger in latter stages of the game.I don't think we tired to the degree Leeds did and the substitution ( Brooke's ) was timed well only one winner after that ,but as all posters say we have played better..
Great Psychology by Wilder to keep the players on there toes.
