Take five minutes to watch his goal highlights for both Swansea and Barnsley then come back and say what a nailed on goalscorer this lad will be in the Championship.

This did not happen. (I've just watched that goal).

You mean like the highlight reel for Swansea that shows a striker getting good service and finishing them well. Finishing with his head and feet, scoring from open play and a couple of penalties.

What do you want? Him to score screamers?

If his type of goals are somehow worth less, then I'm assuming you think Billy Sharp is garbage?

I was wondering whether McBurnie would make a better no.10; he'd be around the box for crosses, can hold the ball up, move it around and pass reasonably well. He wouldn't be able to beat a man like Duffy but it may be the way to get the best out of him.
thats a good shout not a fan of his but i think he looks better when he drops deeper than just feeding off scraps from hoofs upfield from rammy

I'd like to see him hit the ball cleanly not scuff almost every shot,

appropriate that you should mention Sharp as there is a player who can hit a ball.

So I'm assuming you think his 24 goals for Swansea are a result of 24 different goal keeping errors?

How you can possibly watch a striker score over 20 goals in a season and reach the conclusion he's a poor finisher, is beyond strange.

Far too early to decide

Can't quite agree with that.

For me the successful clubs that do well in the first season sell some players for loss of finance (PL tv money) and get wages off the salary list and replace with players more suitable for championship football.

Both Norwich and Bournemouth have sold well and for decent money yet still retaining a very competitive team.

Personally I reckon Wilder knows now who in the ideal world will go or stay- he's made no secret in the past of always having 3 or 4 lists of players depending on circumstances one of which will be a team in the championship.

To be slightly controversial I don't think McB is much at this level - but would definitely have him leading the line in the championship. We might end up with a more mature player in what would be a big push for top spot in the Championship - not second.

Nobody said anything about goalkeeping errors until you brought it up.
I've evaluated that video before:
It's not my conclusion it's your reasoning that's beyond strange, also willing somebody to be good at football doesn't make it so otherwise you may as well put that power to better use and will yourself to win the Euromillions.

If you want Norwood to be a midfield cruncher like Hockey or a dribbler it aint going to happen ,let other players do that and let him do what he is very good at.
Which is what an occasional cross field ping that everyone is waiting for ? Or a sideways pass from the centre back position that Egan or Basham can play?

This from the man who, in his previous post, said he only has one strength. A poster I struggle to take seriously, you seem to blurt stuff out without any thought at all, much of it ridiculous. I expect its to get attention.

It would be easier to judge McBurnie if I felt he had some decent service, but unfortunately it has been poor. With the exception of Mousset, the same could be said for all the strikers.

Not sure what the issue is with Mousset, but he looks & plays like someone with no interest in football, be lucky to get £2-3 million for him!

I thought you would have a better understanding of the written word. Try reading it again:

and tell me which part of that is incorrect. I've pointed out the one strength and identified other acceptable attributes which would go in to making him ok in that position and then given the reason why I've suggested it.
In contrast you have just (in your own words) 'blurted stuff out'. I guessed you had something to do with the legal profession, I hope you pay a bit more attention when you are at work.

A lot of people recently have been saying we need to get rid of Fleck and Norwood because they're finished. What utter nonsense that is, they've only started 9 and 6 games respectively this season! Your legs don't go and you don't just turn shit at 29 years old, when you're around your prime physically. Even in the very rare instances where that might happen, it definitely doesn't happen to a Premier League team's main two central midfielders at the exact same time.

They're just not playing very well and are low on confidence, like the rest of the squad. They'll be absolutely fine, especially if we go down.
Poor again today!

Probably thinking about his next car?

I think that JF & ON should be shown the door, & possibly SB if we can recoup £20 million. A new midfield is what we require if we are going to move forward next season!

Plus get rid of the dead wood, PJ, JR, WF, KB. And most controversially get a new/another coach, & I don't mean the motor vehicle variety!

I know Wilder and his staff are making plans (getting in touch with players agents) but what I am saying is that it is too early from fans point of view as they do not know our budget, wage structure and know which players would come to us. There were many in here saying "sign Eze" when Eze doesnt want to move north unless the club is Man U/Man C/ Everton/ Liverpool etc

We need a fair bit of squad churn, clear some deadwood, cut cloth and focus on our better players.

I think it's the time to be quite brutal.

Bin off / send back...
Moore
Foderingham
Jagielka
Robinson
Ampadu
Bryan
Rodwell
Norwood
Lundstram
Mousset
Sharp

Squad players who shouldn't be first team (unless form improves dramatically)...

Fleck
Stevens

From this we've the makings of a decent squad, assume no one sold

Rambo / Verrips
Baldock / Bogle
RND / Lowe / Stevens
Egan / JOC / Bash
Berge / Freeman? / Fleck
Brewster / McB / McG / Burke

Strong at fullbacks and strong upfront for the championship, but obvious requires strengthening in midfield and across the CBs.

To those saying sell Berge, whether he's happy or not, he's by some way our most talented player and think actively selling would be madness. I get he'll probably want to leave, but stick a £35/40m price tag on his head and see what happens.

He's got the ability to take the piss in that league, and if we want to boucne back up - simply put you keep your best players.

Agree with alot of your post, imo I would probably keep Norwood, Sharp and maybe Mousset if we do go down.

And yeah we will still need investment in the CB and CM areas, could be a quite promising summer.

May I throw a spanner in the works on this one? As the virus in now more rampant then ever and the 'stay at home' rules become even more strict, I could see that the EPL and or the EFL having no choice but to void the season as there is quite a few games left before the supposed three quarters of the season cut off agreement.
Just suppose this will happen and we find ourselves remaining in the Premier League for the 21/22 season (not that we deserve it). What happens then with the recruitment campaign? We obviously require a complete new midfield, but where will the money come from? Do we stick or twist with the defence? Same applies regarding the strikers. We could find ourselves in a complete mess if this scenario comes about without mega investment as I doubt the Prince will have had the time to secure outside help to launch another Premier foothold.

It would be a huge embarrassment to remain in the PL through something like a voided season. As much as I’d love to stay up. Please please not like that.

Yes.we may need everyone whos willing to stay.think most of our players will excel in the championship.give jags and billy some sort of role other than playing
Yeah I think for Jagielka even in the championship he would probably be too old. However, as a coach could be quite useful

Hi Stegosaurus here,

The sort of thread I enjoy. One where I can have a moan.

Sell the following

Ramsdale - liability, but with him being young and English we could get our money back for him.
Berge - Doesn't fit out system, could get a nice 25-30 million
Mousset - Lazy. He's been with the club over a year and is still out shape. Fuck off.
Lundtsram - Doesn't want to be here
Brewster - Clearly didn't want to join. Doesn't want to be here. Puts zero effort in.
Rodwell - Pointless having him
Lowe - League 1
Robinson - League 1
Jagielka - Past it. Give him a coaching role.

Drop to squad-player level but keep as backup

Enda -- Gotta see about replacing him.
Norwood - Seems shit now. See if we can get a replacement.
Fleck - Ditto
Agree with most, not for Ramsdale, Brewster and Mousset. All still very young with good potential, the first two haven't been here long either.

Out
Moore
Foderingham
Lowe
Robinson
Ampadu
Rodwell
Jagielka
Bryan
Qsborn
Lundstram
Norwood
Sharp
I'd keep Bryan wouldn't get much for it and still might have some potential to prove. Keep Osborn, Norwood and sharp for championship experience too

I think the ones other clubs will come in for are Berge, Lundstram possibly Egan and JoC but obviously his injury my help him stay anyone else I’d be surprised unless we wanted to get rid of them not the other way around I think we need to add a good ball winner in defence and bulk midfield try get a good sitter and at least 1 Duffy type player strikers should do alright in championship based on the last time they all played there and goalkeeper I would think also, so now I’m looking for them to finish the season spirited to keep confidence as good as possible, have to mention also Osborn reminds me of Montgomery so much good effort and can run all day but not the best footballer defiantly needs to be playing alongside good footballers to be most effective in my view and that’s not a dig at him UTB

First and foremost we need to know which division we are in.
Billy and Jags need to be found other options whichever division we are in.
If we are Champ or Prem then get rid of
Fodringham
Moore
Rodwell.( is he still alive?)
Ampadu (completely overrated, I'd get rid now and free up a loan spot)
Lundstrum (doesn't want to be here)
Berge (if we can recoup money - just isn't what we need at the minute)
Robinson ( just why)

If Prem
Norwood
Fleck
Moose (unless he can arsed to apply himself like professional athlete).

Champ
As above but keep Moose and Berge as a punishment for being shit and wasting their talent.)

Which ever division we are in it is the midfield that has to be improved with players who can play a pass or cross a ball. I've said before, even average strikers will score goals if the quality of delivery is there. Many teams I've played in have had average strikers but quality midfielders who.can deliver a cross/pass and so we were successful. I've also played in teams with quality strikers but shit midfield who haven't scored goals due to lack of service. Brewster, McB Mosse will score goals if they get decent quality crosses and through balls. Midfield is key.

From who?

I got the best out of him playing a shadow striker role from the cam position on fm surging between the two strikers to get his head on crosses, playing one twos have one striker run wide or drop deep to pull defenders out so they can't track mcburnie coming in, it worked a lot better for me than havin him up front lol, mcgoldrick was also very good at this role for me..

I don't think he'd be outstanding there (or no.10) but he may make a presentable EPL player doing that and should chip in with the same number of goals. Worth a try just to get something (more) back on the investment. Does your formation require a midfield 4/diamond?

Nah played 5-2-1-2 finished 4th (just) in the prem and won the fa Cup first season with transfers disabled and just one loan extra in winter 😂 didn't focus play down the wings though just had fleck play defensive dlp and berge on b2b/mezzala most games, lower tempo with slightly more direct passing, Burke + mousset or brewster up front and told rammer to kick the ball over the top of the defense if they played a high line or to cam position if they sat deeper.

If only the result was replicated in real life 🤣
