It just shows how poorly our neighbours were run too. Did they have to be so bad?Bladey Blade recruitment worked for Hull!
They weren't paying players and heading for admin to be fair! Far worse than Hull's situationIt just shows how poorly our neighbours were run too. Did they have to be so bad?
Can’t help but feel if they’d have embraced a fee embargo not just this summer just gone but also the prior one they’d not have been so abject.
Rather than being seen as a punishment it might have just simplified their recruitment.
They hardly ever recruit freebies from bigger clubs. For example Brunt was so long ago.
No Ugbo. No daft money on Charles's loan. Sell Gassama and Musaba but as part of a strategy rather than already under distress.
The likes or Rohl also need criticism here. They’re supposedly smart people but totally ignore the need to self finance as a Championship club.
Being intelligent when it suits is the worse kind of intelligence from a club’s perspective.
Both Sheffield teams have recruited poorly of late. For some reason we at United seem to really struggle with decent sized cash outlays. Who was the last player we bought for good money and sold at a decent profit? Ahmedhodzic perhaps as a one off and his circumstances probably meant he didn’t reach peak value.
Hull have also ridden their luck. Statistically, they're one of the poorer teams in the division but as Nigel Adkins repeatedly said, ultimately football is about keeping the ball out of the net at one end and sticking it in at the other.Hull have gone from relegation battle to Wembley with smart recruitment including a few former blades.
Their head of recruitment? Jared Dublin who was with us previously...

Yes. And we tend to shit ourselves in our own box. That’s “what we do”.Is it "What you do in both boxes"?
Warnock and possibly Bassett the sameWilder seems to do better under budget restraints to me
Fantastic amusing post it's nearly ÂŁ7 a pint up the posh bars in SYBecause Wilder puts his mates in charge of scouting with the brief of;
a) must be British or have spent their entire career in the UK
b) good solid Championship pro
c) must be able to consume their own bodyweight in Peroni
d) a Bladey-Blade connection if at all possible
and round and round we go....
