To be fair, looks like she can bounce! Was Edwards talking about this female, the more i look at this i think she is after someone in our technical area not Carloss. Is it Jean Hatchet.

SHUT UPPPPP!!!!!!!!!The lunatics have finally taken over this place and made it acceptable to defend a blatantly sexist comment. Is it a big deal? Not really. Is it worse than Big Rons comments on ITV all that time ago? No. But Edwards has made himself look at proper twat. It has nothing to do with sense of humour or times being different. It was sexist to say it in the 70's and is the same now. Just look at the definition of sexism and it is discriminatory comments based on assumptions around someone's sex.
All the usual defence mechanisms are at play. It's banter, you need to get a sense of humour etc etc. Bollocks. Edwards needs to get on the radio and apologise for being an idiot in this case. Stick to your excellent football commentary and stay away from trying to be funny.
Uncle Bulgaria is gonna get you for that....or Madamme Cholet![]()
My point is that only WOMEN give a damn about it, men don't care
And I have just pointed out you need to get a life,it's a light hearted throwaway comment a comment had Wednesday won, then we would never had heard a dicky bird about it .
Congratulations for helping to make a mountain out of a molehill
Where have I said I was offended? You may think you have a sense of humour but no, you actually don't. I take it you don't mix with too many woman these days as after a few Proseco's, you would literally be too offended. Smile, and laugh it off and the world would be a happier place, it is just banter and most woman love it and are actually better at it!
So are you the one who start the Ched Evans' chants about "fucking" who he wants? Twat.
So you think its acceptable to be a patriarchal misogynist, but not acceptable to be a racist? That's very reductionist of you. Let's see what Radio Sheffield - his employer - thinks tomorrow.
Bloody hell get off your soap box. He made an ill advised comment that isn't acceptable in today's society. He will apologise, move on. There are far worse issues in this world that we choose to conveniently ignore...
I absolutely care about sexism and last I checked, I am a man. I do try not to get drawn into long winded arguments about it on internet messageboards though. I don't always succeed.
The problem with Edwards statement is that not all women can cook anymore.
Except that nobody on this thread has attacked any statement of fact as sexist...And don't forget, all the world's best chefs are men...........oops sorry!!!!!!
See how easy this sexism thing is, all you do is make a statement of fact and suddenly you're a sexist
It's true, long winded arguments on the internet don't work. Which is why I tried to make my point and left it at that
If you care about sexism well done, so do I.
But I draw the line in the sand somewhere on what I consider sexist and what I don't.
There's enough problems caused by over sensitive souls who consider everything they see and hear as one form of ism or another, they should get a life.
The girl who has stirred this up is narked about one thing and one thing only.... her football team lost.
I would say the contrary - everyone knows it's sexist.Except that nobody on this thread has attacked any statement of fact as sexist...

I think some folks seem hell bent on finding anything to be offended about. To me, it's all about the intent. If it's meant seriously then it shows real ignorance and lack of appreciation for the opposite sex and can be offensive.
Some women at work were having a laugh the other day - they asked, "What's that useless piece of skin on the end of a knob called?" I answered, "Foreskin?" and they said, "No, a man!". I took it as a joke and found it funny. I didn't feel the need to act offended or report it to HR and bring a case against them. That's because I don't think for one moment that they actually do think all men are useless - in the same way that I don't think for one moment Edwards thinks that all women should be home cooking tea.
For heaven's sake, society needs to lighten up a bit! I grew up in an era where it was commonly the woman's role to be home being a wife and mother, doing the domestic chores and raising a family. There was nothing wrong with that at all, just like there's nothing wrong with women who want to pursue a career. It's down to circumstances and personal choice.
It's a sad day when we can't poke a bit of fun at each other without it being taken the wrong way.
I also believe the same, really like Keith and don't think he meant any harm at all.I would say the contrary - everyone knows it's sexist.
The difference is the scale of harm/malice/ill-will/misogyny implicit in the statement which I personally believe to be zilch.
Excellent Football commentary?Guess it's all subjective but the guy put's me to sleep with his know all i never made a mistake in all my career attitude.Talks in riddles for me and wish we could find someone more succinct and less myopic. Absolutely spot on Razor1967. Im sure Edwards will apologise....or maybe not. Move on.Bloody hell get off your soap box. He made an ill advised comment that isn't acceptable in today's society. That would be the sensible approach. Just apologise and put it to bed.Banter between work colleagues or mates, when there's a relationship and understanding between people, is different to someone speaking to thousands of people he doesn't know and is in a relatively privileged position.
I doubt what Edwards said was particularly serious (if it was he's clearly stuck in the era when he first got into our first team) but even so he could just simply say 'I wasn't being serious but if anyone was offended I apologise'.
