what did Edwards say....

It shouldn't be and you are right. So that makes it ok for a bloke to make sexist comments? What next, it's ok to be racist I have black friends?

I'm sure I read once that two wrongs don't make a right, but perhaps my sense of humour failed me that day.
Bloody hell get off your soap box. He made an ill advised comment that isn't acceptable in today's society. He will apologise, move on. There are far worse issues in this world that we choose to conveniently ignore...

i remember him saying something along the lines of, she should be putting the dinner on. But, it was all tongue in cheek !

yes i heard that during the commentary & i winced then because its a different time & you cant joke about these things anymore in public

but outside of that. i thought Keith Edwards was his usual best as a pundit. as he was as impartial as you can be. was respectful of wednesday. agreeing with me despite being 2-1 up & dominating 1st half we were never comfortable. also 2nd half will be tough as they can play as bad as that in 2nd half

I agree with Smirth ... if he did say such a thing, it's sexist and unacceptable. As unacceptable as Ron Atkinson's comments about a "big lazy nigger". Reading between the lines on what Jonathan Buchan said tonight on Radio Sheffield, the matter "will be dealt with" and Edwards is expected to explain himself on Radio Sheffield tomorrow evening.

Oh dear. How can you even compare the two. Go sit on the silly step. You almost sound like a pig.

It's quite surprising that an outdated simple piece of humour has caused so much outrage and offence among over sensitive people, meanwhile gangs of supporters can gather on streets. in pubs and in the stadium and chant, sing songs and foul mouth referees using every swear word in the book and is seen as having fun and is totally acceptable

Welcome to the fight, er, forum.

Oh dear. It was all going so nicely for a couple of days.

Do you see what that whinging pig on the radio tonight has gone and done? It's the pigs fault - causing disharmony on here .

Damn those clever Pigs (shakes fist)

So you think its acceptable to be a patriarchal misogynist, but not acceptable to be a racist? That's very reductionist of you. Let's see what Radio Sheffield - his employer - thinks tomorrow

Hopefully they will see it as it is without trying to wrap it with some big words that just sound boring....even though we do all actually know the meaning! I would put money on it if Keith and the Lady in question got together they would have a laugh about her actions and keiths comments, discuss the football matters that caused both their reactions and part on good terms after having a laugh about it all. It is people trying too make something out of nothing that are the problem. In fact, that is what Radio Sheffield should do, invite her down for a chat, see if she is offended by Keith or what she was seeing on the pitch on Sunday?
