We look to have found a player in Peck and Blaster will hopefully be back next season. Potentially a decent base to build from.
Seriki has come on this season and should be another good Championship player for us.
We still have a couple of decent Champ strikers in Campbell and Moore.
Financially we aren't in too bad shape. Hamer, Anel and Souza will go which should free up at least a modest amount to work with.
And we aren't going to lose to the porkers in the playoffs.

Just felt I needed to tidy that up a little

Just don't give the money to Wilder from those sales before he signs another Tom Cannon to go with his Brewster, McBurnie, Mousset, C Robinson, Freeman etc.....

Moore's a handy big man option to have at this level and it's bizarre Cannon has been played ahead of him.
Presumably Cannon will stay until Xmas and then go on loan somewhere like Preston in January.

how about a big mercy

Wilder shown the door, can’t handle the heat, quit last time, bottling it this

no objections to finishing behind Leeds and Burnley, both been machines

But we’ve got away with shite performances by getting a win

1 goal in 3 games at this time of the season against 2 relegation candidates and mid table Millwall is fuckin embarrassing

Never been a Moore fan mate.
Fair point regarding Cannon. In fact it's bizarre he plays ahead of anybody!

There's no way Wilder's big signing is going anywhere, unless he does.

Very true.

I don’t dislike the idea of Peck and Arblaster as a base in the same formation, especially as Arblaster looked like becoming a goalscorer.

Even if we go for Dunne, Seriki is good, but not good enough to get poached by the league above, same can be said for Burrows. McCallum is an acceptable back up.

I’d be happy to go for Darling on a free as well. We’ll be stuck with Robinson but I’d make another centre half a priority.

You can always get loans at the top of the pitch, but O’Hare is a player I like, Campbell has done well. You just need two wide players. You might be able to play Tom Davies as 10, if fit, and O’Hare wide. Add in Moore and Oné and I’m not sure you miss Brewster very much if his games go to Oné. Maybe we’ll find a way to get Cannon firing?

You would lose big wages of Hamer, Souza, Anel and Brewster. But you could still fashion a decent team.

Just a question how Leicester, Ipswich and Saints look. Not sure any are as strong as Leeds as a club size or with some of the players they retained.

I commented earlier how they might be tough but I’m not so sure now. Saints could beat Derby’s record. Once they lose a few players I’m not sure how good Leicester will look either. Ipswich were outsiders to go up. So they haven’t had that much money.

Time will tell eh!

Seriki isn't good enough defensively and to be honest is not that good going forward, yes he has pace(something we lack) but his end product is poor, he gets the ball caught between his feet all to often and if he does manage to get a cross in it's often over hit.
If you are serious about a promotion challenge then you need better than Moore.
If Anel, Vini, and Hamer go we won’t be anywhere near the top if we are relying on Seriki and Moore.

The 4231 formation works best with two box to box midfielders, not two defensiver midfielders.

The first supports both the defence and attack, the second creates a huge void between the defensive midfielders and the attacking midfielders.

For me for the remainder of the season we should swap out Peck and Souza for O'Hare and Hamer. Be positive and make the most of the remaining fixtures and at least try to resemble a team capable of creating goals going into the play offs, rather than a team scared of everyone, including themselves.

We're only stuck with Robbo if we offer him a new contract

Don’t forget a Goalkeeper 100% Leeds Burnley ( Trafford off to Newcastle) at least will be wanting him …. Or as they both might get relegated Ramsdale

And keep Robinson

Moore's a handy big man option to have at this level and it's bizarre Cannon has been played ahead of him.
Presumably Cannon will stay until Xmas and then go on loan somewhere like Preston in January.
He's had to play cannon cause the owners are asking why a 10m striker can't get a kick..

Magic beans Chris.. only 10m

Also Brooks and One that should see some game time next season in this division, realistically the target will be play-offs again with the reduced budget.

He should've started Moore and Campbell today or Moore and Cannon if you're going to start Cannon. As for Robinson ahead of Holding. What a joke!

Burnley s defensive record is outrageous, Leeds have a very good squad, no hard feelings from me for them both going up automatically

Fact is we don't know how good blaster will be next season following a long term injury, he could get crocked again, teams know it's a weakness
Sorry but that's how it's played

As disappointed as we all are (especially as it's only been a few hours since FT at Plymouth), there are some positives to take from this season.

Cooper, Burrows, O'Hare and Campbell: four solid signings this season who should grow with us, and I wouldn't worry about losing Cooper and Burrows, they've both got long contracts so there's no pressure to sell.

Peck and Arblaster: when Arblaster recovers, we'll have these 2 fighting it out for 1 CM position, and they both look class.

Seriki: finally got his chance with us and he's taken it, still room for improvement (particularly defending) but glad he's taken his chance.

Brooks and Oné: good options who hopefully can go even further with us.

Doing the double over the pigs and making a bit of history while doing it, keeping clean sheets in both games, as they needed reminding who the top dogs are in Sheffield.

For a team that had a big rebuild, which still left a few holes in the squad, mainly in certain positions, getting a top 3 finish is a good achievement.

Position by position, this is what we'll have to work with next season, excluded all the loan players and highlighted and ? anyone I don't 100% think will be here.

Also included some Academy players.

GK: Cooper, Faxon, A Davies?
RB: Seriki, Sam Curtis
CB: Baptiste, Anel?, Robbo?
LB: Burrows, McCallum, RND?
CM: Arblaster, Peck, T Davies?, Souza?
CAM: O'Hare, Marsh, Brewster?
LW: Caceres, Nwachukwu, Hamer?
RW: Brooks, Hampson
ST: Campbell, Moore, Cannon, Oné

Not a bad place to start, regardless of what division we're in, and there'll be some good bargains available in the summer, Jimmy Dunne, Jonjoe Kenny, Luca Connell and that Poku from Peterborough just to name a few.

According to my source, Arblaster was on his way to Brentford until his injury.
If we don't go up I can see a southern Prem team coming in for Sydie. He's only here as he loves Wilder who persuaded him to come here when he had offers from Prem teams. We're likely to lose our decent players Hamer, Vini and Anel. Unless we manage to win the play offs we're done I reckon.
