Wes has peaked. It happens to every keeper. It's a mental thing as much as anything else. The unforced errors he's been making just weren't there at anywhere near the same frequency since he broke into the side. I'd still offer one year on middling Champ wages which he'd be unlikely to accept. No more than that.

After speaking to my Rangers supporting mates they were gobsmacked he ever got to Championship level, let alone Premier league....let's have it right, it was a toss up between him and Verrips on that night at West Brom away, Verrips drew the short straw and the rest is history.....

Wes is a good shot stopper but after that he's woeful, I saw his post on Instagram last night suggesting a "snake" but he's had a contract on the table since last summer that he's refused to sign so what the fuck does he expect us to do....fanny around until he makes his mind up and considers other offers?

I'm glad Wilder has publicly said Ivo is his number one, whether he is good enough time will tell but the GK position was incredibly weak and something Hecky failed dreadfully to address in the summer.

As for Wes, I suspect he will end up at a Championship club but he really is "League One" at best.....Good riddance
Has he deleted it? Can't see anything, although I'm no Gram expert.

What did he post?

Looks like hes deleted it but He posted a script along with a song that stated "snake".....Read into that what you will...

Fact is he's had a contract on the table since the summer and he's not signed it so what does he expect the club to do....at 33 and being incredibly lucky to be a premier league keeper you would think he would have got his pen out sharpish.....

Never been anywhere near good enough so let him leave and find his true level....Di Canio was right.

Lucky to have had any sort of career at PL level. I like him as a Champ keeper but that's all he'll be consistently. Bollocks to him if he didn't want to sign a new deal.

Yet it seems the club or Wilder are the snakes but like others have said that deal has been on table all season.

Old Di Canio knew what he was talking about after all 🤣🤣🤣

This contract that you know he’s refused to sign. What’s the terms?

I think Wes is a very decent keeper for where we're going.. If the club can't afford to keep him on the terms he's earned here, which no doubt will reduce on relegation, that's on the club not Wes.
Think on, our Club would not have the riches of the PL and parachute payments without Wes and others (2 Ollie's) performing so well last season.
Short memories. Princey clearly deserves to pocket those riches when he sells, not players that earned it for the club.
The new lad does not look like any sort of upgrade based on the Brighton match.
Let's hope he can step up!
I don't buy into the script against Fodders. Snake is about right.

Appears that Wes has had an offer on the table for a considerable period of time. I’d imagine it would have been both fair and possibly more than most would offer. He has made his decision, if he feels he can get more elsewhere, good luck to him and thanks for his contribution. We move on as a club and shouldn’t be afraid in this scenario of saying ‘adios’ if our offer wasn’t acceptable.

Many on here crave the club planning ahead and for next season. Appears that is what has happened with Grbić joining, alas some feel it necessary to go into premature labour based on one performance!

Wilder isn't going to hang around waiting on Wes or upping offers - think of Duffy. If Wes is on his way then so be it. It'll be a shame and there have been great memories. I've much preferred Wes to Ramsdale to be honest. We'll just have to see if Grbic can step up.

To be honest I like Wilder's stance here. I remember when he first came in and he talked about taking back control of the contract situation and he's now walked back into a very similar situation this time. Going into next season with so few of our own contracted players is a fuck up on the clubs behalf and it seems we've ceded a lot of power back to the players in terms of whether they renew and, in all likelihood, their terms. This seems like a small step on a road to fixing that.

Wilder if he sticks around for next year has lucked in again really. As a fair chunk of the squad will be out of contract in the summer. Similar to how he had the chance to clear the decks in 2016.

He has taken aim for Wes as he thinks he is just taking the piss.

No idea, you?

Hope we have withdrawn it though, or reduced it at least

You’ve no idea what the terms are but you still think he should have signed the deal which (according to you at least) has been ‘on the table’ since the summer. And your reasoning for this sudden opinion is a post on instagram where he didn’t even say anything, and which could’ve been completely unrelated.

At what point do you start to think you might have no idea about things?

Why hasn’t he signed the contract he has been offered? I appreciate he does not have to if he doesn’t like the terms but he can’t then complain if the club signs a keeper who will be here at least in the medium term. He has played chicken and lost

Has he complained?

Makes you wonder if his hesitancy has gone down poorly with Wilder, they’ve signed Grbic and then withdrawn contract offers to Wes, Davies and Amissah or at least Wes.

End of the day, Wilder works to a budget. If he’s been forced to go and get a new first choice, then why would he keep a deal on the table, based on Wes being first choice?

Sadly for keepers only one plays at once.

Wes has really misjudged this one.

Agreed re misjudgement. No doubt his agents played a part telling him he's a PL keeper and needs to get paid the going rate. Getting rid of all 3 keepers and replacing them with Grbic and Johanssen would be good business
