Wearing Blue to Blades matches

Indulge me in a light hearted debate.

How/why does age have anything to do with it, out of interest?

Hundreds of millions of fans, globally, regularly wear the colours of their team. We see it all the time. Are they all huge 8 year olds?
Maybe adding ages was a bit facetious of me and was only meant to be light hearted myself. It's the night before a big game, we don't need to get into too many debates!

Absolutely nothing against wearing the colours of your team and I'm in no way mocking it etc, I support it and never would, although the discussion wearing club colours has been taken out of context and is not anything to do with my comment if we're being honest here. It was more about avoiding wearing Blue.

UTB!!

Dry during the game but by the time I get home there's likely to be rain. It's distracting me from the pre game nerves just deciding what to wear...
Found a light jacket....it's dark blue/black.

Hope this is okay for some sensitive types 😔

It was raining when I left, so blue walking jacket and blue jeans. Red and white hankie though I won't be crying even if we lose.

Why?

I'd guess about 40% of our fans today were wearing a blue coat or jumper. I even saw some blue glasses.

Our city rivals wear blue. Our opposition today wear blue! I can't understand why our fans turn up wearing anything blue.

I'm sure plenty of people don't think this matters, but isn't it football 101?! We are a red team unless you're wearing an away shirt.

Barely a flicker of red in the away stand today.
Our previous owner was so mental he thought blue training gear was a good idea, players and coaching staff didn’t

Someone thought they'd wear an Oxford colour coat to the match...

It was bloody freezing and I needed a coat. The lass was still at work and I'd stupidly left my usual coat in her car. I was thinking of just going in my hoodie with gloves and a hat but it was that cold I just had to reach for the only coat I had in the house which happened to be completely black, nice, warm and fit for purpose. Weird choice from the chap in that Star gallery, mind you.

Red is obviously my favourite football colour, but I have never really been one for wearing United tops and unfortunately I just don't suit red, or any of the warmer colours when it comes to general clothing.

My other half has a keen eye for all things fashion, whereas I have no interest, and she is very honest with me about what suits and what doesn't.

I largely still to black, and darker shades of grey, brown, blue and green. On the odd occasion I do wear red, that has to be a very dark shade too.

It’s winter FFS! Most men’s big coats are generally quite conservative in colour, black, dark green, or yes you guessed it …Blue.
I’m sure the general hue of our match-day experience will alter as the weather gets better.

What is this weirdness around colour?? Ffs...i wear jeans...doesn't make me a pig. I swear a friend of mine got the hump because I bought a pair of green SL 72's....their logic being that was too close to Celtic colours.....obviously a big no-no when you live in Sheffield and give zero fucks about what happens north of the border....🤣🤣🤣

I have a very nice red Berghaus coat that I wore, for the first time, at Lincoln City v Hartlepool in an FA Cup Rd 2 game a while back whilst ticking off another ground.

After the game, I was walking back towards the town centre, with Lincoln fans, when we were suddenly steamed into by away supporters, and I was punched by some random oik.

No injuries were sustained, and I made my way to the big hill where, ten minutes later, I was eating a fine piece of sponge cake and drinking tea from a china cup in a very nice café with my wife, who noted my appearance of excited agitation.

I often marvel at the fact that I am one of a very few people who wear red to a game, the majority in blue or black.

I have also been asked for ticket information whilst on the railway station at Sheffield and Newcastle as I must appear similar to LNER train staff.

I frequently get asked questions in shops, usually when I wear a fleece with a little logo on it that people must think looks like shop staff uniform. I like to tell myself it's because I have a helpful looking face

Three pairs of "Days-of-the-Week" socks. Unwanted gifts. Never worn. Ever.
Free. 😆
