Reflections.....

The only team to achieve 92 points with under 1.4 goals per game. It was a 60 point season but we had a lot of shite performances and a lot of luck.

And "robbed in a playoff final"? Are you serious? We deserved to lose. Barely touched the ball in the second half. Crap substitutions. It was awful management considering Sunderland didn't lay a glove on us in the first half.
You say potato I say you're wrong

I was and am still 100% Wilder out, we needed change, we needed to get away from the Bladey Blade way and move forward.

I was optimistic about Selles, just like the new guy we took on at work last week, he has all the credentials and talks the talk.

We have lost a few team players, we are trying to integrate some new guys to work in a new system.

It's not working though, in fact it's shambolic.

Football is a business these days and if business is failing, you make changes.

The Manager of our business is failing and he obviously doesn't have a clue how to turn things around.

If it wasn't for Tanganga today it would have been a heavy defeat so what does our Manager do..he puts a striker on the pitch in Cannon who is about as useful as a condom at a Bonnie Blue orgy.

Selles has to go.

If Hamer is staying the build the team around him and O'Hare, they were brilliant together for Coventry so no reason why we couldn't replicate that. At the moment though in the system Selles is playing, those two are our biggest weakness.

After that then let's get the basics right, Cooper is obvious. Right back is weak, maybe the Korean lad if he comes in? Binden is poor, Tanganga looks awesome, Burrows has been awful.

Peck is no way near the player he was with Vini alongside him, why has Soumare been left on the bench?

Not convinced by Barry or Brooks on the wing, both of whom seem scared of getting chalk on their boots, getting down the touchline and getting a cross in.

Cannon is shocking, if we can get rid before Monday then do it.

Campbell looks half arsed.

Something needs to change and quick.

Selles out.
I agree with much of that, but have some comments:

RB (and fullbacks generally) - We have played with wing backs for so long that this is exactly the players we have, they're much more attack biased in the way they play, Seriki, Burrows and McCallum. We have brought Godfrey in and i'm not sure on what he is. Last week v Millwall he looked better but yesterday was weak before his Injury. We went with a back 3 of McCallum, Bindon and Tanganga when Godfrey went off, keeping Burrows on, playing One at Wingback, having previously come on 20 mins earlier on the wing. It was strange. As you say if it wasn't for Tanganga we'd have lost heavily. We could've kept the back four and replaced Godfrey with Seriki. Straight swap

Peck - He's doing a big job, we effectively play with two wingers that don't track back, two midfielders that like to get on the ball, not win it. In fact they struggle with that aspect. So Peck is alone. Soumares is young and inexperienced, but he'd work better than what we have

Wingers - Also not convinced. As you say, wingers should be getting chalk on their boots and whipping crosses in. But for that they'd need an end product. Neither Brooks nor Barry have this. For that they'd need a target man like Moore or McBurnie, we don't have that. One is about as close to that as we have, but its a big ask for him and he's being asked to play the wings like Cannon. I'd say that we need to abandon this idea of wingers as we just don't have the players around them to really make them effective

Campbell - My view is that he can probably score off crosses, but his best strength is his finishing and getting in behind defenders, I'd prefer him in a front two, but thats not happening, so the next best is to have balls being played in behind for him to get on or for him to drop off to create the space for him to shoot, i'd say the same applies to Cannon and Ings.

And the final point, about a Condom at a Bonnie Blue orgy - For me this would be extremely useful and the one item which be in high demand. So you're saying Cannon is very useful?

It's the reality of a disjointed team full of players that don't have an actual position ending up being square pegs in round holes.

It's the exact same situation we had with Slav. Wilder's DNA is embedded deep with Sheffield United. It will take a few transfer windows to extract it no matter who is in charge
Is the Wilder DNA you speak of being competitive, being proud to wear the shirt and winning matches ?
If it is then you're doing Selles a disservice because he seems to be eradicating that embedded DNA quite quickly.
