Fantastic result well done blades, ground it out, starting to think this Wilder bloke knows what he is doing

The truth is we'll either play well and draw or play badly and lose.

History has shown us time and time again that we are incapable of winning these matches. We've never won a match away away to a promotion rival under Wilder.

When push comes to shove we crumble every single time.
You dont know much do you?

On another day Gibbs gent sent off
And also on another day Rodriguez gets sent off for knocking the ball in with his hand, definite sending off offence, it's an even worse form of cheating than diving which you can get sent off for.

Well my heart rate’s just come down. With 5 minutes to go you could have peeled me off the ceiling. After going to the toilet with 8 minutes left in the Villa match I was feeling a bit superstitious tonight and was in quite a tangle by full time. Need to work on my pelvic floor exercises to see the rest of the season out.

Bit amazed by some of these comments on Johnson and McGoldrick – I thought both put in shifts, there wasn’t a single player out there that didn’t.

An excellent performance and result. And probably a bit of a statement too. That’s why despite being stuck at Hawthorns station till about 10 mins ago I’m still in a great mood.

Hendo 8/10 – faultless.
Freeman 7.5/10 – defensively switched on, decent going forward.
Johnson 7/10 – some poor decision making but was not exposed. Thought he was solid.
Cranie 8/10 – solid all day, great assist for the goal
Egan/Stearman 8/10 – Egan was immense first half. Stearman slotted in professionally, faultlessly...Stearmanly.
Stevens 8.5/10 – superb. Oozed class in that position today, read everything well, was brilliant
Norwood 7/10 – did well considering he was desperately trying not to be booked. Had a crucial role in the goal releasing Freeman
Fleck 8.5/10 – with Stevens he episomised everything we did well today. Harried, battled, used the ball well throughout. With Norwood a bit quieter I thought he was great today
Dowell 8/10 – did well throughout, got a great goal, looks confident and intelligent
McGoldrick 7/10 – some poor decisions, but put a shift in again and linked well
Sharp 7.5 – loses half a mark for not finishing that excellent move 2nd half, but he ran his arse off today

Wilder 10/10 – nothing more he could have done today

Fans 10/10 – superb support.

Also, first visit to the Hawthorns. Thought it was a decent ground to be fair, despite the silence from the home end.

Agree but some people love to moan

Great result, played well for 20 minutes but in the 2nd half it’s the least impressive we’ve been since the Swansea 2nd half display. We just about deserved the win but it was more through determination and battling qualities over actual quality.

Great also that The Curse Of The New Bus, which has been the subject of so many threads, phone-ins, twitter debates etc, has at last been cast aside.

Enjoy the comfort lads, you’ve more than deserved it with tonight’s effort.

as I said on shoutbox that last half hr was horrendous, I was so tense. just expecting the inevitable goal because on paper this is a very good west brom side if moore had 3 more games I believe they wouldve stayed in PL. but under tremendous pressure they were fantastically resilient. the game management was very good instead of hoofing it back the kept the ball many times that disallowed goal isnt helping WBA because any 50/50 decisions will go against them because that in consecutive games proven cheating on TV. I put on is that how desperate they are cant play fair, so start cheating. as its laughable how blatant it was. 1 WBA fan replied saying "he owned up to the ref" which is almost as laughable as the cheating instance in the 1st place. oh well done for admitting when your caught red handed. i didnt see him being so honest when he got away with it at villa & in words of rihanna as why not :D "Don't tell me you're sorry cause you're not, Baby when I know you're only sorry you got caught"

no doubt that was a big win but looking at the fixtures it doesnt get any easier Wednesday will always be difficult, Rotherham outplayed us & Wednesday at New York stadium . then in Bristol Preston Brentford they are the 2nd 4th & 5th best team in form table since boxing day. & forest historically eventful in my yrs of following sheff utd

On the subject of that, I’m surprised more hasn’t been made of the attempt to win a penalty two games in a row by Gayle. The play has moved back out of the box and Gayle just opts to fall over Stearman’s leg and try and win one. Stearman was looking at the ball, and Gayle manufactured a ‘challenge’. Thankfully the officials were wise to it on this occasion.
