I dunno if it was worse than the Boxing Day massacre a couple of years earlier. Or the Wigan premier league relegation game in 2007

Unfortunately I was at all four.

I wasn't around for the Don Given penalty miss but was made aware of it when we first played you after you'd been relegated to league one. That's a real football moment through and through - two teams, both can be relegated, playing each other at the end of the season, last minute penalty - cruel for one - incredible for the other.

Getting relegated in the last game of the season happens to us quite a lot. :(

On a positive note, I was once at a game (Burnley v Hull) when we were promoted without kicking a ball. Hull had to win 3-0 to go up instead of us. They hit the post and scored within five minutes...but could only score one more goal despite having the vast majority of the play and creating hundreds of chances. :)

Were you (or your dad) there Soton Sadler when you nicked a win at Bramall Lane. Don Givens missed a penalty for us. We got relegated to Div 4 and you stayed up> Despite all the trials an tribulations since - that was the worst ever, just pipping the 2012 Penatlty shootout. :(

Aye, it was the worst!

Rival fan sincerely wishing us luck without pouring scorn/shame over us, calling us 'scum', or making some joke about us having a front 3 of Evans, Stalin, and Pol Pot??!!

What... are ... you? o_O

...and lives in the land of global titans Southampton to boot. Remarkable.

I was too. On reflection maybe 2007 was worse. After the high of seeing Weber score, when he hadn't, to the eventual realisation at the final whistle we were down was bad.

Oh God and what about Chelsea Stein's goal and relegation. We've taken some stick haven't we?

The 2012 Play Off loss to Huddersfield wasn't a fantastic experience either. Another one I had the misfortune to attend

I guess the only thing left to enjoy was the post match BBQ then?

Was it Walsall that we played in the last game (or one of the last) of the season maybe 10 years ago when Walsall scored and a number of Blades cheered as the result was relegating Barnsley? Or am I making all that up!?

Well only one team deserved to go through. That was toothless and insipid. Yes it was a pen but we didn't trouble the goal keeper all game.
They looked far more threatening going forward and we had far more last ditch defending to do to prevent yet another chance on goal.

I don't care if it was the JPT or not. Every game you play in a Blades shirt should be treated with the same respect and desire to win.

I see Preston and Bristol C are still in it. They keep scoring and they keep winning. Thought that was what the game was all about.

Fairly scrappy that as all thought. You should have had a penalty but on balance we probably just about edged the game (wasn't much to edge).

See ya all next time!

was an even contest which swayed to Walsall as our midfield and forwards were playing at statues , the lack of movement to give any one with the ball opitions was palpably noticeable, and led to stray pass after stray pass, and too often 50/50 balls were allowed to see walsall players come out with the ball , all in all lack lustre doesnt begin to cover it and was un impressed with De Alarmingo

It was a very lack lustre game although I thought Reed, Diego and Basham put in good performances when the rest of the team were under performing.

thought Basham was best player on park , pity we had nothing in front of him anywhere near as good , like Reed but needs to shoot in training more , 5th timer Ive seen Diego , still cant see why some get over excited , nice touch to control yes, then,,,
