You were saying it was a goal. You were asked to prove it was a goal as there is no picture which confirms the whole of the ball crossed the line. You continued to peddle the lie/untruth that it was a goal as opposed to saying it was your opinion.

Bless

Most sensible Blades who I know who have seen the video and don't have their Blades denial blinkers on ARE OF THE OPINION THAT it was clearly a goal.

Hope this helps.

Ps- There's another chap on here who says the ball was no where near where near the line, let alone over it, assume you've picked him up on this too?

JUST BECAUSE YOU SHOUT DOESN'T MEAN IT'S TRUE.

How can all these "sensible" Blades say it was clearly a goal when clearly it was not clearly a goal as there is no evidence for that?

You've clearly misread or misunderstood my post.

Maybe read again and come back to me?

And tell George it wasn't in either.

Top 6 a doddle in this league eh, when was the last time they ever finished in the top 6 of any league. What a vile little soulless trampy club

Think about what you have said. Rephrasing it:-

'Apart from scoring the goal, what did Sharp do?'

As a striker he put himself in a position where he might score and it went in off his shoulder. He could 'what did he do?' every match for me.

I wasn't critical of Sharp. I'm pointing out they had more attacking intent and chances than us.

They sound like us after every home game for the last three years, and they describe us like MK Dons of last season.

They got all the decisions apart from the ones that decided the result. Makes a nice change.

One red card was definitely not enough.

That's fair enough Jehovah. Maybe this would have been a tad clearer if you had put something like.........

'I felt they had more attacking intent and chances than us.'

rather than being critical of Sharp and saying.......

'Apart from the ball bouncing in off Sharp, what did we do?'

Of course one is pointing out a perceived weakness in our player rather than pointing out a perceived strength in their play?

I find it all very confusing.

The clue is in the quote, what did WE do.

Pretty clear what he meant.

You must be easily confused. I said what did we do? I thought that implied I meant the team, not just Sharp.

It was no goal as the referee/linesman didn't flag it as one but the reply I've seen shows the ball was in.
The video is in conclusive how anyone can say for definate it's in is guessing!!The only person who knows is long and he says it wasn't.
The Coventry players claimed a goal as you would expect them to do (ours would do the same) move on we won 1-0
The no goal against Oldham was a definate goal (video evidence )but the final score was 1-0 we move on bring on Man utd

Can only assume you haven't seen Long's interview?

I am easily confused. I sometimes find it easier to say what you mean rather than say the opposite and expect the reader to draw an inference?

Yes you did say 'we' I read it wrong, my mistake. Same result though. 'Apart from score, what did we do?'

And for what it's worth. It ought to be no surprise at all as they are a team in a rich vein of form and second in the league whereas we have been very hit and miss (more miss), which makes it all the more rewarding to me that we won.

Yup, I read it wrong PeteBlade

Apology accepted.

Assuming they didn't actually score and the ball didn't cross the line, they should have had a stonewall penalty. Armstrong had a good chance in first half and then Long made a good save second half. They also played two balls across the face of our goal which were begging to be finished.

Apart from the ball bouncing in off Sharp, what did we do?

Won the game.

I thought the only times Coventry looked dangerous was when Collins had the ball
We provided all their decent chances .anf if we can eradicate these .by shipping out Collins to Maltby miners welfare fc we will continue to improve. If Colins could pass to our forwards in a game as much as he found Coventrys hed be world class

If you have and you still believe George doesn't think it was a goal then there's really nothing more to be said.
According to Barneys version of the Laws it wasn't a goal..... Ball may have been over line but Long's glove was on the line when he touched the ball so no goal :)

At least when we start next season in League One again we'll be able to look back on great memories of the time we fluked a 1-0 win vs. Coventry.

Which is why I said I'm giving zero fucks for today. I'm enjoying the three points, then maybe tomorrow I will worry about how rubbish we were.

At the start of last season one of the two clubs didn't have a home ground, were bankrupt and under a transfer embargo. The other had a wealthy businessman and a Royal Sheik as co owners on the verge of Wembley for a cup and promotion and had some decent players or astute loanees. Reading those comments and watching the game today it's easy to get confused over which is which.

Got to be said, if United ever lose to a team which has Collins, McEverley, Sammon and Woolford in it, I think I would give up football.
