Yeah, Ryan it’s a very good PL keeper.

from what little I’ve seen of Cakir on YouTube. He looks like a very good shot stopper and really really good 1v1, but that said he does seem to push / let the ball bounce back into the 6 yard box fairly regularly from shots.

think we would have to resign ourselves to one our two of those drops leading to goals over the course of a season.

I'm so glad you said this. I wanted to put something similar after watching highlights of him but I didn't know if it was just me.

Obviously you can drill this out of a keeper so I'm not putting this too much against the lad but spectacular saves are useless if they just go straight down the throat of a waiting striker 6 yards out.

That said I'm still impressed from the (admittedly) little I've seen of him and from all accounts Darren Ward is a great goalkeeping coach so I'm sure he'll be more than up to the task of turning Cakir into a top asset should we bring him in.
 
My takeaway from his YouTube compilations is that the Turkish league looks an appalling standard.
 
This was gathering some pace last night. I'll ask my mate who owns the kebab shop what he's heard as he follows the Turkish football scene. He is from Turkey.😎
 
Every signing is a risk. Even buying a proven high quality player doesn’t always work out because they get injured or don’t fit the system (Leon Britton springs to mind). What I trust CWAK and the team to do is get the scouting right and give themselves the best chance to get what we need in. Keepers are more difficult because they are so much in the eye of the storm when something goes wrong. I remember when Henderson was linked and then arrived many questioned that. Never played above league one, very young and no experience but the club saw his potential and yes he’s made mistakes but on the whole they got that one pretty well right. If they decide that Ramsdale or Çakir have the same potential then I’m happy to go with them.

Everyone pops out of the woodwork when times are exciting for us. I remember Plough Lane getting tonked 5-0 in the pissing rain open seat scaffolding stand. Coach trip down many years ago. Silent Blade. Wimbledon. That's why it's in itsinyerblood. Good to get a massive following now though. Eric Brooks....Name like an actuary. Pub shortly after a few beers in the sun watching cricket.😎🍺😉
